Our spacious yet cosy cottage instantly welcomes you offering an ideal space to unwind as a couple, with friends or with the whole family. Set in peaceful countryside within the Lake District National Park our secluded rear garden is the ideal spot to enjoy the stunning views to Wasdale. A walkers paradise, close by to Scafell & Great Gable, under a mile to the Pub! with great food and ales 4 lovely bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, country kitchen, wood-burning stove, all you need for a great stay. The space Our beautiful cottage has oodles of character and charm with spacious rooms set over three floors. On the Ground Floor. A lovely lounge-diner with 2 comfy sofas next to the charming Wood-burner for cozy nights (instruction provided) this room also has a large dining table for family meals. There's a TV and DVD and are plenty of books for a snuggle up and a read. If you like walking there's plenty from the door with the Santon Bridge Inn just under 1 Mile away. Feel free to use our books of walking routes for the area and further a field. The rustic country kitchen is fully equipped with electric hob and Neff oven. The kitchen also has a wood-burner making this an additional cosy spot. You will find all the expected kitchen utensils, microwave, toaster and kettle along with an array of tableware and glasses. There is also a dishwasher to ease the chore of washing up. Just off of the kitchen you will find the useful utility room with full standing fridge freezer, washer dryer, additional sink and plenty of hanging space for walking jackets and boots. This is where you will also find your supply of cushions and throws to take to the Garden. Up the lovely staircase and you have three bedrooms and bathroom with double shower, toilet and sink. Bedroom 1: Kingsize Bed Bedroom 2: 2 Single Beds Bedroom 3: Slay bed which is a small 4ft Double Follow the wooden stairs up to the Top Floor Bedroom 4 (please note this is a fairly steep staircase) with its quirky sloped ceilings this is still a spacious room with bathroom just outside the door where you can relax and soak in the deep roll top bath. There is also a bathroom sink and toilet. Bedroom 4 : Pine Double Bed Single Bed with underneath pull out bed. All our beds will be made up with lovely fresh sheets and everyone will have a fluffy Bath Sheet and Hand Towel. Now to the Garden. We love nature and wildlife and you will certainly find it here. The view is truly beautiful with stunning views across open fields to Wasdale Valley. With a lovely garden bench with cushions and throws, perhaps enjoy a glass of wine or cuppa in the peace and watch the light change on the fells in this enchanting place. There is also a large picnic bench for outside dining. Guest access Wasdale View Cottage aka lovely No3 is the largest cottage in a row of 7 situated in the small hamlet of Santon Village between Gosforth and Santon Bridge. We are in the Lake District National Park and a stones throw away from the UNESCO World Heritage site of Wasdale Valley where you will find England's tallest Fell and Wastwater a perfect place for wild swimming. The vast stunning beaches of Drigg, Seascale and St Bee's Head are a short drive away and not to be missed. Other things to note A welcome pack of logs and firelighters along with instructions on how to get it going as we appreciate they are a new entity to some guests and we would love you to enjoy it. Your welcome pack will include a good supply of Tea and coffee, nibbles and biscuits and when available a locally made treat. The stairs to the Top Floor Bedroom 4 are fairly steep with a hand rail. The ceiling on this floor is low in places as it is a traditional cottage. The cottage is cleaned by a family member so feel assured that a clean welcome awaits. We try to be as flexible as possible with our availability. This can be subject to cleaner availability. If you can't book the dates you require please message us and we can try and accommodate your request.
