An 18th century former pub, now converted into a cosy cottage and recently refurbished with new kitchen and bathroom. In the heart of Youlgreave, a village with three pubs, two bakeries, a coffee shop, a post office, a village shop and deli and a 12th century church. Fantastic walks from the front door into Bradford Dale, Lathkill Dale and over to Robin Hood's Stride and Nine Ladies Stone Circle. Easy access to Bakewell, Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Buxton. Private parking for three cars. The space A spacious sitting room with an open fire and a dining table that seats six. Firewood, kindling and firelighters are provided. A new, well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, gas hob and electric oven. A hall with plenty of space for walking boots and coats. Three double bedrooms. A bathroom with bath and shower. The house can also be booked via an alternate Airbnb listing for up to four guests with only two bedrooms being made available. We try to be as transparent as possible in our listings and would ask guests booking via this listing for up to six people with three bedrooms being available to note the following: - On the plus side, the third bedroom, which is only available via this listing, is the biggest bedroom. - This third bedroom is a "flying freehold" over the sitting room of the adjoining house and given the historic construction of the houses there is little sound insulation. However, at the time of listing, the elderly occupier of the adjoining house is living in a self-contained flat at the opposite end of his house, so we do not expect guests to be materially affected by noise from the adjoining house or vice-versa. - William IV House has only one bathroom, with bath/shower, handbasin and WC, so guests may wish to consider whether those facilities will be sufficient for six guests. There is an additional outside loo which is functional but has not been refurbished in several decades and guests may use this if they wish. - The sitting room has two sofas, each comfortably seating two guests. If six guests wish to sit in the sitting room at the same time, two would need to sit on (cushioned) dining chairs. The dining table comfortably seats six guests, on cushioned dining chairs. Guest access Guests will have exclusive occupation of the house, with free on-site private parking for up to three cars in a gravelled area of the garden behind the house. Other things to note At the back of the house there is a small garden comprising a limestone gravelled area with parking for three cars, a small grassed area and a limestone paved area with a table and four chairs. The garden is not fenced on all sides and we do not claim that it is the idyllic English country cottage garden, but a number of our guests have mentioned that they have made use of the table and chairs to sit outside for a cup of coffee in between exploring the beautiful scenery that can be accessed on foot from the front door of the house. Dogs are welcome (up to a maximum of two).
