Other things to note The cottage have all amenities you need for a stress free stay. You have to take a ferry to get to Karlsøy Island, and we recommend to have a car at your disposal. You can also take the bus from Tromsø. Because you have to take the ferry to the Island, you are guaranteed a quite stay, with a minimum of cars, and other city sounds. There is a small grocery store at the Island with limitied opening hours. So we recommend to do your main shopping in Tromsø or Hansnes before you take the ferry. There is many hiking opportunities, with a beautiful beach 30 minutes away by foot. The is also a nice trip to take to the lighthouse on the east side of the Island. You have two hills (Vetten 206 meters high, and Varden 163 meters high) that make a excellent day trip. You can also take the fishing rods with you and catch fresh fish from the dock.
