Description
Welcome! Need inspiration or a new perspective? Our cottage gives you a panoramic view from every window. Don't expect a perfect cottage, but one that is made with love! It is in the back of our spacious garden where our cat, rooster and chickens also roam around. Inside is a spacious fine kitchen and a cozy "almost-bedstee" with a view. All amenities are under one roof. Feel like going out? The Rhine is just around the corner, and the forest and historic towns are within easy reach. The space Good to know: Our outdoor space is not finished yet, we are still working on the finish. There is already a terrace with table and chairs to sit outside, but the flowers around it are still in development TINY HOUSE - THE KITCHEN The tiny house consists of one large long room with multiple living areas. Upon entering, step into kitchen with the wood stove next to it. There is also an electric heater. The kitchen is equipped with all the basic necessities and is larger than you would expect in a tiny house (note: over is small). EAT + SITTING AREA To the left of the kitchen there is the dining and sitting area. Both from the sofa and from the dining table you can look far into the green fields (with the dyke in the background). A large sliding door with glass doors takes you to a plateau where you can watch the sun go down in the evening. SHOWER + SLEEPING AREA To the right of the kitchen you will find the toilet and shower in two separate - and small - spaces. At the end is the "bedstee". If you are lucky enough, you can see fools and hares walking from bed. THE GARDEN The tiny house is about 30 meters from our own house, this gives you a lot of privacy indoors. Only from the kitchen window you can see our house in the distance, the other windows all have unobstructed views. We have a large and detached garden with beautiful flowers that we are still partly decorating. Most of the garden is freely accessible, and you will occasionally - remotely - see us working in the garden with our sons. In addition, there is a private garden that belongs to the Tiny house, which is still in development. NATURE The Rhine is a 1-minute walk away, you can even swim there in summer from a mini beach. One of the tastiest things about this place is that you can walk away in no time, from short to long. Nearby you will find rolling fields and several forests where you can enjoy hiking and biking. And there's a good chance you'll spot Frederik the stork, our neighbor. CULTURE The place is on the border with Germany, and it is very easy to experience a holiday feeling here. There are several historic towns nearby such as's Heerenberg and Doesburg and we are happy to tell you where you can find the best coffee and dining spots. GOOD TO KNOW We have a proud rooster in the garden that likes to chuck early in the morning. If you're a very light sleeper, this might wake you up. For tall people, the toilet can be a bit tight. About a hundred meters away is a stone factory that you can sometimes hear (but not on weekends). And the boats on the Rhine can make a low humming noise. Guest access The tiny house is fully available for guests and has its own entrance. Behind the tiny house is a piece of land with a terrace which is only for the guests, this is still in the making. The rest of the garden is shared, you are welcome to walk around and you may see us and our children occasionally in the garden to prune or sow/harvest.
