The Hideaway in Highcliffe

Welcome to The Hideaway in Highcliffe! The Hideaway is a cosy & comfortable self-contained guest suite for 2, attached to our family home. It is within walking distance of the sea, in the lovely village of Highcliffe on the Dorset coast. The Hideaway has its own private entrance and allocated parking space on the driveway. It has a lounge/diner, bedroom with king size bed, shower room and kitchen. There is also a small private patio area for you to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. The space Welcome to The Hideaway in Highcliffe! The Hideaway is a self-contained guest suite for 2, attached to our family home. It is within walking distance of the sea, in the lovely village of Highcliffe on the Dorset coast. Highcliffe has a good selection of shops, cafes and restaurants. Highcliffe Castle is a 15 minute walk, and you can get to the cliff-top in about 7 minutes to breathe in some fresh sea air and admire the views to the Isle of Wight, Mudeford Quay, Hengistbury Head and, on a clear day, The Purbeck Hills. Highcliffe Golf Club is just round the corner and there are also courses nearby at Barton-on-Sea and Brockenhurst. The Saxon town of Christchurch is 3 miles away, and the pretty harbour town of Lymington about 9 miles - both can be reached by bus or train. We are on the doorstep of the New Forest National Park which can be reached by car in around 10 minutes. Bournemouth is 10 miles, Southampton 20 miles, Salisbury 25 miles. If you are visiting by train, our nearest station is Hinton Admiral on the direct route from London Waterloo. The station is about 25 minutes walk from The Hideaway. The Hideaway has its own entrance and allocated parking space. It has a lounge/diner, bedroom with king size bed, shower room and kitchen. There is also a small private patio area for you to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. From the outer door, you enter the utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer (shared with the main house). There is space for storing shoes and coats. The front door to The Hideaway opens into the lounge-diner with comfy chairs by the large patio doors, and a dining table with 2 chairs. There are books and games for you to borrow, and information on village amenities and local attractions. Please note that the tv does not receive freeview channels but it does have a Chromecast device so you can stream programs on BBC i-player, ITVX, and any subscription accounts you may have such as Netflix. There is a shower room and a well-equipped kitchen (oven, toaster, kettle, microwave, teapot, cafetiere etc). We always pop a pint of milk in the fridge and supply teabags and coffee so on arrival you can unpack, enjoy a cuppa, and relax! The bedroom area is partitioned from the lounge/diner by curtains. It has a 5 foot wide king size bed with cotton bedding, bedside tables with lamps, and plenty of storage for your clothes and belongings. Whether you are visiting for a wedding at Highcliffe Castle, a round of golf at Highcliffe Golf Club, or a few days of rest & relaxation by the sea, The Hideaway provides a welcoming base to explore the local area. It is also a great base if you are working in the area - the dining table can double up as a work space. Please note that despite being completely self-contained, it is attached to our family home and, although we are not a noisy family, you may hear us from time to time! Guest access The Hideaway is completely self-contained. The utility room is shared with the main house. Other things to note The Hideaway is open from April to the end of September. We have an elderly chocolate labrador dog who you may see pottering around the garden from time to time!
