Madgeon’s view railway carriage

Madgeon’s view is a unique and lovingly restored railway carriage on our regenerative farm in the Blackdown hills AONB. Formerly part of the Madgeon estate in the 1800s, this secluded spot gives you exclusive, sole use to relax and enjoy the view with your partner and 4 legged friends. There is easy access from the M5 and A303, providing a great base to explore the Blackdowns, Somerset countryside and attractions and the beautiful Jurassic coast. The space This former fruit and vegetable wagon from the railway creates a spacious, comfy bolt hole to relax and unwind. There is easy access from a quiet lane into the farm with private parking. On arrival there is a lit path leading you into the private fenced area with wildflower garden, firepit area and a rustic beech bench! Sturdy steps lead you onto the decking for spectacular views across our farm to Marshwood vale in Dorset. Enjoy the farm, wildlife and birdsong with a drink or relax in the outdoor bath or shower. There is also a private composting toilet to complete your amenities! Inside there is a cosy double bed cabin, relaxing sofa space and handmade kitchen area. This comprises a butler sink, combination microwave, 2 ring hob and undercounter fridge. Guest access Guests have easy access from a quiet country lane onto a hardcore track. There is ample private parking and a very short walk to the property. This is in a beautiful, secluded spot for your exclusive use. The area is boundaried by hedges or stock fencing so that any 4 legged companions can have a relaxed sniff. The area is shingle and grass with steps to the patio, bathroom facilities and cabin access. Please note that the bed is also raised with step access so the property is not recommended for those with limited mobility. As a working farm it is a no smoking site. Other things to note Bedding and towels are included and we are happy to drop in food supplies at cost if this is arranged in advance. There are some logs supplied to get you started…
