Description

Surrounded by farmland close to Chew Valley Lake the Stables is a tranquil, one bedroom stone cottage run on solar energy situated in the Mendips AONB Dark Sky area. Enjoy the peace and quiet yet have easy access to the great cities of Bristol, Bath and Wells and day trips to Glastonbury and Cheddar Gorge. Excellent walking, trout fishing, shooting, bike riding, horse riding, star gazing and bird watching are all possible or simply chill out and leave the world behind. The space The Stables are a sympathetically converted traditional stable block powered by renewable energy and surrounded by Mendip Hills AONB farmland near Chew Valley Lake. Comfortably furnished with a mixture of modern and mid-century items with all you need for a relaxing holiday. The bedroom has a double bed, ensuite shower and WC. The lounge and open plan kitchen/diner have a smart speaker, wifi, TV, cooker and fridge and plenty of kitchen equipment. Outside has an enclosed patio with picnic table and there is a covered area with bike racks for cyclists. ONE SMALL well behaved dog is very welcome. There are four lovely local pubs with great food, local ale and cider within walking distance, close to a super farm shop with cafe and near to a local Spar. Visitors can enjoy many walks directly from the property including access to the Limestone Link National Trail to the Cotswolds and the Butcombe pub Trail. Being in a Dark Sky area means that star gazing can be spectacular on clear evenings. There is a wide variety of wildlife to watch out for including deer, otters, bats, and up to 200 varieties of birds can be seen around the lake. The area is very popular with cyclists and horse riders and chew valley lake is famous for its trout fishing. Those wishing to venture to the city are spoilt for choice with Bristol, Bath and Wells just a short drive away yet it's easy to return to peace and tranquility. Guest access The stables is part of a traditional stable block and has off road parking. The cottage has one double bedroom with double bed and ensuite and an open plan kitchen/lounge/diner and an outside courtyard with table and seating. For cyclists there is a covered area with bike racks.
