Central San Rafael studio near downtown, SF, Napa
Our lovely studio is a short drive (or walk) to downtown San Rafael, about 20 minutes from San Francisco, and about 30-40 minutes from Napa and Sonoma. We're located on a hill in a safe and quiet neighborhood with lots of trees and walking trails nearby. Please note: The road to our house is narrow and winding, but it's only 1/3 of a mile from Lincoln Avenue, one of the main streets running through San Rafael. There is plenty of street parking (no restrictions) in front of the house. This cozy studio is about 420 square feet. It's on the ground level of our two-story home and has its own entrance. Amenities include: Queen bed Full bathroom with bathtub & shower 32" flat-screen TV with premium cable channels (HBO, Showtime, etc.) Excellent Wifi access Heating & air conditioning (mini-split unit) The kitchenette is appropriate for light cooking and has an apartment-sized stove, refrigerator, and microwave. The couch does not fold out but (I'm told) is comfortable to sleep on. We provide all linens, towels, and soap. Guests staying 7 days or more may use our washer and dryer. We love hosting people and can guarantee you'll feel comfortable and well cared for. We have a small standard poodle who is very sweet but somewhat shy. Looking forward to meeting you soon! One of us is almost always home so we're available to help if you have any questions. We live on "Lincoln Hill", a quiet and tree lined area about one mile from downtown San Rafael. There are walking trails nearby. We're about one mile from downtown San Rafael and about a 10-minute drive to the Larkspur ferry terminal where you can catch the ferry to San Francisco. The freeway is very accessible; heading south, you can reach San Francisco in about 20 minutes or, if you go north, Sonoma and Napa are each about a 40 minute drive. San Rafael is a convenient and central Bay Area location, only a 20-minute drive to San Francisco, Berkeley/Oakland, Muir Woods, and about 45 minutes to Sonoma and Napa. Downtown San Rafael and the transit station are about 1 mile away, as is the freeway entrance (101 north and south). The downtown area is charming, with artist studios, shops, restaurants, and a wonderful art house cinema. Sol Food Restaurant, less than a mile away, has been written up in the New York Times (36 Hours in Marin County); it has delicious and inexpensive Puerto Rican food. We're also near Dominican College.
