One bedroom private suite with private entrance and full bathroom on the back of an adorable, well appointed 1949 house in northeast Seattle. Quiet residential street, only a couple blocks to groceries, bars, restaurants, parks and express bus lines to anywhere in the area. This super clean suite is an amazing value in a beautiful, bustling city. Very private, quiet master suite with a queen bed and full bathroom (including tub and shower) on the back of my Mid-Century Modern home. Personal control over the temperature of the room by remote with a mini split fan - keep warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The space has a solatube that gives natural light and two windows that open and provide fresh air that guests can control with curtains and shades. There are office supplies, nightstands, lamps, benches, chairs, luggage rack and hangers w/ an ample closet space, a pull down table for eating or laptop work. The bed is very comfortable with a semi-firm memory foam mattress and appointed with fresh comfortable linens - extra blankets if needed, and multiple choices of pillows. The bedroom has hard wood floors. There is an electric kettle for hot water, a Keurig maker w/ coffee and selection of teas. There is a small microwave and refrigerator (w/ small freezer) for storing and reheating leftovers, continental breakfast in your room or that cookies and milk treat at the end of the night. There are cloth napkins, dishes and flatware and dishes to use outside in the yard, as well, and amenities to wash and dry them. Please use the thermal metal “sippy cups” if you are drinking red wine (or grape or cranberry juice, etc. - anything that will stain) inside or out. This is a green home complete with solar panels. I use environmental-friendly cleaning supplies and hope that guests respect energy and water conservation practices while staying with me. I expect that guests are conservative w/ water usage and turn ALL lights and fans off when they are not in the suite. The house is on a large corner lot with a big surrounding yard. There is one parking spot in the driveway. Guests access is through the backyard off the driveway through a private entrance to the guest suite. There are small steps from the yard to reach the entrance. The suite shares a small wall with the dining room of the main house (which is the interior (solid) securely locked door and a large glass and steel cabinet. My bedroom, bathroom and office are on the opposite side of the house. There is a private backyard adjacent to the guest suite and a small deck right by the entrance and essentially for Airbnb guests. There is a wonderful table and chairs and a functioning umbrella w/ lights to protect you from sun or rain (when seasonally appropriate - approximately April - November). Please feel free to dine and hang out back there at your leisure. There are metal / plastic drink and dining ware specifically for outside. It is quiet and pleasant back there. I may be out working in the yard or back in the other corner, but usually let the deck be for Airbnb guests only. I am around a lot, as I work from home, weekday evenings and weekends doing house work and out in the yard so you may see me. I am practically a Seattle native and it is my very favorite place in the whole world. I love to offer suggestions on things to do and see and would be available to help guests plan and organize their visit. I love to meet new people and am often up for some drinks, food or conversation, if the occasion arises, but like the guests to make the call on how social they'd like to be. My interests include music, travel, the outdoors, the arts, entertaining and cooking. When requesting a reservation, please let me know a little about you, what brings you to Seattle and things you are interested in during your stay. Please do your research on the location - I am a decent ways from downtown Seattle (NINE MILES) and with traffic these days, it can take some time getting to and from major attractions no matter what the transportation mode. I don't want anyone disappointed in the locale so I am being honest and people's expectations should be managed accordingly. Please consider this when rating your experience - the location IS the location, if you wish to be closer to something, please book accordingly. The neighborhood is called Cedar Park, part of a larger area of Seattle known as Lake City. It is the very north eastern part of the city limits. It is just up the hill from Lake Washington and about two miles or so from I-5. It is a small, quiet residential neighborhood that backs up against Lake City proper, which is a bustling little area of small business, restaurants, bars, breweries, shopping, parks, a community center, a library and a wonderful little farmer's market every Thursday afternoon/evening during the summer. There is access to the Burke-Gillman Trail nearby for running, biking and walking, as well. It is just north of the University District and not far from the wonderful Magnuson Park area on the lake off of Sand Point Way that offers many options for outdoor and indoor recreation. There is off-street parking in the driveway for one car. The bus system is easy to navigate and there are many busses that stop within a few blocks to get you anywhere you need to go. It is a 20 - 50 minute ride to downtown, depending on day of week and time of day. These buses are a direct connection to the downtown tunnel where you can catch the train to the airport and elsewhere. You can have a taxi or Lyft to the house within 10 minutes, at most. Recently the Northgate Light Rail station opened and is a quick bus or car away. This provides super fast, direct service to capital hill (12 minutes), downtown (20 minutes) and Sea-Tac Airport (53 minutes). There is a maximum of two guests only and you must provide me with the first and last name of the second guest if they are not on your AirBnb profile. I do not reserve to anyone under the age of 25. The person booking MUST be the guest - I DO NOT accept reservations made for friends or family members. NO EXCEPTIONS ANYMORE - TOO MANY ISSUES! Nights of stay maximum set to 13 days due to WA state residency laws. Longer stays may be permitted on a case by case basis, please message your request. Please note that if you have checked luggage, are renting a vehicle, taking public transportation or arriving during rush hour or the weekend or holiday, it will take at least an hour for you to get from Sea-Tac airport to my house. It is about 19 miles and takes approximately 30 minutes with light to NO traffic. Can often take up to an hour. Your reservation request may be declined if you don’t have an AirBnb history. The suite is a “no shoes” room - a tray is provided inside the doorway for your outside shoes. This is for cleanliness of the rug and general sanitary purposes. Your adherence is most appreciated. By reserving this AirBnb, you are agreeing to ALL parts of the house manual - ALL instructions and rules. Please be aware that if they aren't followed, I WON'T give a five star guest review. Follow check out instructions - this has been a huge problem lately. Absolutely NO SMOKERS. This doesn't mean NO SMOKING, it means if you are a smoker I don't want you staying here. This guest suite is part of my house where I live and work full time. It is not it's own building. You will hear me and I will hear you. Reasonable efforts have been made to sound proof the room, but I do ask that you speak in normal tones and use headphones when you can, including NOT taking virtual meetings or calls on speaker - that tends to be the loudest overall. Quiet times are adhered to on my end, too. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in the room and party - this definitely isn't the place. This is someone's home - not a hotel. There are two indoor-only cats living at the house, but they do not ever enter the guest suite. You may hear the pitter patter of their little feet, their meows or see them sitting in the windows of the house watching the world go by. There are MANY birds, squirrels, rabbits, raccoons and wandering outdoor neighborhood cats often in the yard. This is an eco-conscious house and Seattle has very strict laws in terms of recycling, garbage and composting. Please dispose of everything properly and be conservative with your water and electricity usage. Turn all lights off when you are not in the suite. PLEASE leave me a review after your stay! Improvements to my guest suite are made and often come directly from feedback. More reviews means more guests, means more info, means more improvements! I ALWAYS review my guests.
