Located on a sprawling 486-acre ranch, this rural getaway is a hill country gem! You won’t want to leave this charming, one-of-a-kind place. Formerly a spiritual retreat, we offer a place to hike, play games, swim or just relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Multiple wet weather creeks crisscross the property surrounded by ancient bluffs, reminders of a simpler time & place. Deer, turkey & other wildlife are frequently spotted. Take a little time & 'live in the countryside'. The space Each Guest House sports 6 unique, private rooms w/ beds ranging from twins to kings. Each house has 2 gender specific restrooms, each with 2 showers, 2 sinks & 2 toilets. A stocked coffee bar provides an early morning first brew. The fully-equipped shared kitchen & BBQ grills are steps away at the recreation center where you have your choice of indoor dining or outdoor dining under ancient live oak trees. ~ SUNRISE Room 2 is a private room with one queen size bed and one full size bed in a renovated bunk house. Sliding glass door allows for private entrance. Interior door has a keyed entry for privacy. Central air and heat, oscillating fan. Like a hostel, the building has shared restrooms, one for men and one for women. Two lavatories, two showers, and two commodes in each. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided. Bath towels are located in each room. Shared kitchen is located a short walk away in the Recreation Center. Guest access Legacy Ranch is 486 acres of semi-rugged central Texas hill country. Numerous trails and hunting roads lead through the property to beautiful overlooks, ancient streambeds, and hidden creeks. You may collect rocks, etc. without disrupting the natural area. Maps are provided in your cabin and on the wall at the Rec Center. This is country hiking, wear comfortable, sturdy hiking shoes, take water, a whistle, and a map. You may see wildlife, road runners, squirrels, deer, snakes, porcupines, racoons, etc. For your safety, please DO NOT approach wildlife. ~ A stunning ancient oak tree shades the pool area and Recreation Center which are for the private use of our guests only. The pool area is generous, with enough room for a family gathering, including several large patio tables and chairs, and both a charcoal grill and a propane grill. It is conveniently attached to the Rec Center which has central AC/heat, bathrooms, a full kitchen with cooking and dining supplies, and a cozy seating area in which to relax. The Rec Center activities include a pool table, ping pong, air hockey, foosball, video & arcade game, card tables, board games, books, and corn hole. ~ A lifeguard is not provided. Children under 16 must be supervised by an adult at all times. Pets are not allowed in the pool. Flip flops are recommended for the deck area. Beach towels are provided. Other things to note Each guest house has a coffee bar and small refrigerator. The full kitchen is nearby in the Rec Center. Dogs are allowed on Legacy Ranch with an additional pet fee of $50 per pet. Dogs are allowed in the house but not on the furniture. Please clean up after your dog if they “do business” in the common areas. ~ Smoking of any kind is NOT allowed in the house or in the Recreation Center. Please smoke outside, away from the doors. To keep our natural area clean and reduce the chance of a fire, a cigarette butt receptacle is located on the porch and at the pool. Please use them! ~ A fire pit is located near the Rec Center for your use. To minimize the risk of pests and infection you MUST purchase firewood from us for $20 per large bundle, if you want a campfire. Each cabin is equipped with smores sticks for your convenience. Occasionally, we will be under a county-wide burn ban. In that case, no open fires are allowed, however you may still grill. ~ Speed Limit 20 mph on property roads. Please drive slowly to keep any dust down. Watch for wildlife, dogs, children and hikers.
