Explore the Area • Maudslie Woods: Step outside and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the surrounding forest. Be sure to bring your camera equipment for wildlife spotting (deer, foxes, pheasants, buzzards, woodpeckers, badgers, owls, red squirrels, highland cows, otters, kingfishers, herons and many others can be found right on our doorstep), • Clyde Walkway: The Clyde Walkway is a foot and mountain bike path which runs from Glasgow, Scotland, to just above the UNESCO World Heritage Site of New Lanark. The path runs close to the River Clyde for most of its length and is designated as one of Scotland's Great Trails by NatureScot. The route is 40 miles long, and combines rural sections on the upper Clyde in South Lanarkshire, including the Clyde Valley Woodlands National Nature Reserve and the Falls of Clyde • Cycle Paths: Both the Clyde Walkway and Mauldslie Woods are extremely popular with biking enthusiasts for the adventurous, scenic, riverside cycle paths and beautiful landscapes. Bring your bikes, pack some lunch, and enjoy miles of exploration. • Golf Courses: Carluke Golf Club is a popular, inviting course only 5 minutes’ drive from the property. Picturesque Lanark Golf Club is extremely popular with visitors from all over and offers a friendly, welcoming challenge to visitors of all levels, only 25 minutes’ drive away. Hamilton Golf Club is a technical, challenging, immaculately well-kept course only 15 minutes’ drive from the property • Garden Centres: Within walking distance, guests will find a selection of hugely popular garden centres offering exciting shopping opportunities, local arts, crafts and produce as well as cafes and restaurants offering homemade delicacies. • Adventure Parks: Valley View Adventure Park and the Clyde Valley Family Park are around 10 minute's drive away and offer incredible recreational experiences for families including Go-Karts, Sand Pits, Giant Slides, Safari Train Rides, Animal Experiences, Crazy Golf, Foot Golf, Trampolines, Climbing Frames and more. • The Popinjay Hotel & Spa is also within walking distance for guests looking to indulge themselves in a spa treatment or to simply enjoy a relaxing swim, jacuzzi, and sauna. Day passes can be purchased directly from the hotel. • Wild Swimming is increasing in popularity in the Clyde River and there are many spots to choose from just a short walk or cycle from the property, if you are feeling braver than we are! • Fishing. The River Clyde is extremely well-known and popular for its fishing and permits are available for migratory fish including salmon and trout. Guest access The Orchard Suite has its own completely separate access, and none of the facilities offered are shared. Linen and towels are included. Come and go as you please; we offer self-check in for your privacy and flexibility. No need to meet anyone in-person, however we are always on hand to assist guests, discuss the local area and answer any questions. High-speed, free wireless internet is provided along with a small table and chair set for any guests requiring work facilities. Please note the property is located on the first floor (not ground level) and is accessed by one set of carpeted stairs. Due to us having a family dog, and out of respect for our neighbour’s pets, we unfortunately cannot permit any other animals on the property. Please note the property is a large family home and guests should anticipate the general day-to-day comings and goings of typical family life. House Rules & Info: - Check-in time is 3pm and check-out is 11am - Smoking is not allowed - There are parking facilities available at the property - Pets are not allowed at the property Please note a Carbon Monoxide Alarm is not required on-site as we are a gas-free property. Other things to note We are a family-friendly home, and welcome guests with small children. Similarly, we also have young children and a dog in our home that you may hear from time to time. Our wee ones rarely make antisocial noise, and we would appreciate the same from our guests.
