My house is newly renovated, very cozy , new bedrooms furniture , floor , kitchen , bathroom. Very peaceful neighborhood. Just 20 min. from downtown Reykjavik . The space Grundarhverfi is close enough to Reykjavik and I think there is more to see near nature than in the city. Behind the house is a playground for kids,basketball ring and a small soccer field. our neighborhood is very safe and kid friendly. Brilliant location overlooking Reykjavik but also Mount Esja is located in Kjalarnes, just a 20 minute drive from Reykjavik’s city center (but only 5 min from my house). This majestic mountain offers a dramatic backdrop to the capital but it does offer so much more. There are a few different paths , based on difficulty, up the mountain so everyone should find one suited to them. Hiking mount Esja is one of the most loved outdoor activity by locals in reykjavik and for good reason. In walking distant is the beach with black sand over looking Reykjavik city, swimming pool, a gym and gymnasium which you can rent by the hour, we also have a small bodega/gas station. About 10 minutes away in mosfellsbær a small town, you can get almost everything you need,also we are about 15 min from Akranes city you can drive in a tunnel under the sea 6 min or take the scenic route witch takes about 60 min or so. The drive from keflavik airport is about 60 min to my house. Our house is perfect for starting or ending you´r trip around Iceland or just staying near the capital. Guest access The whole house except the attic and the shead in the backyard. there are tv and Amazon fire tv in every room with unlimited high speed internet and wifi. Other things to note While Kjalarnes is part of Reykjavík, it is located in a rural area which offers numerous outdoor opportunities. Near the pool towers Mt. Esja at 900 meters above sea level. It makes for an ideal trek, and the view from the peak over Reykjavík and the south-west is fantastic. Then there is Kjalarnes' beautiful coastline, just full of things to discover. Pool facilities include hot tub, a small gymnasium, and an exercise room. When in Kjalarnes, you're out in nature but still in Reykjavík
