Cosy country cottage to escape the world.
Description
Blackberry Cottage is a charming, traditional Derbyshire Cottage enjoying an elevated position with panoramic views across open farmland and the Goyt Valley. It sits on a quiet lane leading from the town with all of its amenities within easy reach and walking distance. The flagged front patio provides an ideal place to sit out on warm summer evenings and enjoy the views and sunsets. It is located close to the Peak Forest canal, the spa town of Buxton and on the doorstep of the Peak District. The space This is an ideal home in which to sit back, relax and escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. A walkers paradise, there are numerous walks directly from the front door. Essential amenities are easily reachable and, within walking distance, there are a variety of pubs, takeaways, coffee shops and supermarkets. Whaley Bridge station enjoys a regular service to both Buxton and Manchester. The ground floor homes a spacious through room with a well equipped kitchen, a dedicated dining area and a comfortable lounge which enjoys far reaching views. The kitchen houses a microwave and a fridge/freezer as well as a Tassimo coffee machine with a variety of taster capsules for you to enjoy. On cooler evenings relax in front of the log burner. It is possible to use the downstairs space as a dedicated work space with Sky Wi-fi. The first floor homes a spacious bedroom with a very comfortable king sized bed. There is an en suite wet room with toilet, washbasin and walk in shower. Towels are provided: Bath towel, Hand towel and Face cloth for each guest. Guest access Guests have sole access to the entire two bedroom cottage. Please be aware that, although the cottage has two bedrooms, the bathroom is en-suite to the master bedroom. The front patio provides a private outdoor space in which to enjoy sitting out on warmer days and enjoying the extensive views. The sunsets across the valley are spectacular. There is time limited access (after 7pm and before 10am) to the rear of the property except in emergencies. This is a shared access for the other three cottages in the row and also sometimes the home of a cat. It is my work space and gives me access to the garden as well as allowing me to care for and maintain the plants in this space. It is a covered area which houses the BBQ and has a table and chairs. Other things to note The cottage sits in an elevated position above the lane. It is important to note that the front door is therefore up a flight of twelve steps. The cottage sits outside the village and up a steep hill. With a lack of local taxis and Ubers it is therefore important that you plan to drive into/out of the village if mobility is an issue. Although there is no dedicated parking along the lane neighbours have an unwritten rule that no-one parks outside anyone else's house. This should mean that there will always be a parking space just in front of the house. However, it may not be large enough if you have a big car and are not used to parallel parking. If this is the case I suggest you pull in as best as you can to unload and then park at the water trough as you leave the woods. If, in the unlikely event, the space in front of Blackberry Cottage is not available for any reason then you will be able to find a spot beyond the houses.
