Description

Nesjane Gard is a perfect location for a long weekend or a longer stay with friends and family. The house is by a lake on the island Barmen, and close by the open sea and fjords offering amazing nature experiences. The house is large and spacious, and we also offer you to use the bonfire cottage- perfect for dinner, good conversations and simply enjoying a bonfire as the sun sets in the sea. Barmen is a location for the explorer, come see for yourself- every season has it's own magic. The space "Nesjane" is situated in a scenic and beautiful landscape by the lake "Fjellvatnet", on the island Barmen. The villa is comfortable and well equipped, and as our guest you'll have the entire property for your full disposal and if you wish you're welcome to use our bonfire hut*. There is a large garden surrounding the villa, and you're in the middle of coastal nature. Just from the doorstep you have several choices for hiking or lighter walks, choose from the highest point of the island or a walk to the seaside. (The highest point of Barmen is 458 m.abv.s. and a 2hrs hike from the villa. ) You can also grab a fishing rod and go fishing in the lake, that has been a well renowned fishing lake. Here you can fish the local trout "krede" and rainbow trout. On Barmen there are 35 habitants. It's a friendly atmosphere, and a very special place. "Nesjane" is the perfect place to relax and to have as your base for experiencing a beautiful part of West Norway. You are living between glittering fjord and vast sea, and within few hours you can experience towering mountains, blue glaciers between green valleys, white sand beaches cut into rough landscape. Norway at it's best. * Bonfire hut; a finish traditional cabin built in a hexagon shape with a fireplace/grill in the heart of it. It's great for gathering after an exiting day and tell good stories, and maybe even cook your dinner here. The view from the bonfire hut let's you see the sun set in the northern sea… The house is comfortably sleeps 9 with additional 2 sleeps on a sleeping couch. 4 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, 2 bathrooms 1 kitchen, 1 terrace. Animals are more than welcome here, and there is plenty of parking space. . It has been our family house for years, and still is for holidays and long weekends. We do not live on the site, but we have family and friends in the neighbourhood if you need anything. Our recommendations: Nordfjord has a lot to offer of activities and beautiful spots to see. We recommend that you go hiking, fishing, surfing, visit nearby beautiful spots. Activities: mountain hiking, fishing, surfing, glacier walks, skiing, swimming, diving. KRÅKNES FYR Visit the old lighthouse at one of Norway's roughest points. VESTKAPP The most western point of norwegian mainland. BRIKSDALS BREEN glacier walks REFSVIK beautiful white sand beach SELJE Center of the area, with a white sand beach. Also has a great SPA at the hotel. SELJA island. Visit the monastery ruins and learn about the legend St. Sunniva. Daily boat trips from Selje. SKIING in the wintertime at Harpefossen ( 1 hr drive) or at Stryn Skisenter (2 hr drive). In the summer time you can visit the Stryn Summer ski resort (2.5 hr drive). SURFING AT STADLANDET, Hoddevik + Ervik.( 1hr drive) At the most western main land of Norway, you will find white beaches hidden between rough mountains- and here you can go surfing if the waves allow you, during summer not always. I have spent so many hours staring at the sea here waiting for the waves to build up It is insanely beautiful, and so peaceful. you can rent surfing gear, or go for a yoga class in a barn or on the beach. see stadsurfing no for more info. You need a car to get around, and to arrive at Barmen you will need to go by the ferry. Ferry times can be found on the website of Barmen. The nearest villages are Selje and Måløy. Airports: Anda, Sandane airport is 2 hours by car. Vigra, Ålesund airport is 3 hours by car. Flesland, Bergen airport is 6.5 hours by car Please also note that there are no shops on Barmen so please make sure you but groceries before your arrival. There is plenty of cold storage space for your food and beverage at the house, cold room and freezer if needed in addition to normal fridge. Guest access The house is all at your disposal. It comfortably sleeps 12 with additional 2 sleeps on a sleeping couch. The villa has 6 bedrooms with double beds, 1 bedroom with a single bed, a well equipped kitchen with cold storage room, a large living room with a large fireplace built in stone . The villa also has a large terrace. You are more than welcome to bring your pet, animals are more than welcome here, and there is plenty of parking space. Other things to note There are no shops on Barmen, so please make sure to buy all your groceries before arrival. The villa has plenty of storage of your food and beverage. incl freezer.
