Great option for thru bikers/hikers and travelers looking for a place to get out of the weather, or just wanting a place to stay while riding the Cumbres Toltec train. This is a great alternative to a hotel/motel stay for those who seek peace & quiet. The space Apartment is on large acreage with 2 other rentals. Apt. is separate and apart from other dwellings, with a private entrance. The river walk and pond areas are shared space. Enjoy walking along the river and watching the wildlife. Large parking area is gravel or dirt, can accommodate larger vehicles. A long driveway ensures privacy. The attached garage is not a part of the rental, but it is being offered as a bonus use for this unit, and no other renters, at host's discretion to store your bicycles or hiking gear for through hikers and bikers. No cars/trucks/campers in garage, although we can make an exception for a motorcycle. This efficiency apt has a separate bathroom with large shower. Kitchenette is equipped with mini fridge/microwave and hot plate. We are located about a mile from the Cumbres Toltec train station. And Antonito offers several restaurants, a laundromat and post office for your convenience. Guest access Access to efficiency apt is through the stand-alone garage. Host will be onsite to show you in and give you keys. There is a lock box for afterhours arrival, if host isn't available. Entrance to property is via a double gate with a long gravel driveway. Other things to note Be aware that max occupancy is two people and there is one double bed. Visitors are fine, but they need to check in with the host for insurance purposes and need to leave by quiet hours. We have dark skies here. It will be dark outside. There are animals. You may see a cow or two, maybe some horses. You will hear owls, hawks, coyotes and other critters. We are a free-range state. We are often under fire watch, so absolutely no outside fires/fireworks, etc. and smokers need to gather butts. Wildlife. We have protected wetlands along the river. We have nesting ducks and geese. We ask that you enjoy watching them but don't play with them.
