Other things to note Fire Pit & Burning Regulations (Central Frontenac) This property is located within the Township of Central Frontenac, where all open-air burning is regulated by municipal by-laws. Please note: The property holds a valid fire permit; however, guests must comply with all current Township of Central Frontenac burning regulations. Guests must check the current burning hours, fire hazard status, burn bans, and any fire restrictions before lighting a fire, as these may change throughout the season. No fires are permitted during burn bans, fire restrictions, or when weather conditions make burning unsafe. Burning is prohibited during high winds or other hazardous conditions. Fires must be attended at all times and fully extinguished before leaving the area. Only clean, dry firewood may be burned in the designated fire pit. Guests are responsible for complying with all applicable municipal fire regulations during their stay. Failure to comply may result in fines and/or liability for any damages caused. Check-In / Check-Out Late check-out or early check-in may be available upon request, subject to availability, and may incur an additional fee. Please contact us in advance for details. Any late check-out without prior notice will be subject to a $10 fee, billed in 10-minute increments. Getting Here - Road Conditions The road leading to the cottage is a typical rural/cottage road. It is accessible in all seasons and can be driven in a standard car. During certain seasons or after heavy rain, some guests may find a higher clearance vehicle (such as an SUV) more comfortable, but many guests—including us—regularly access the property in a car without issue. Safety Notes The stairs and path leading to the dock do not have a handrail. This may not be suitable for elderly guests or those with mobility or special needs. Pets One hypoallergenic pet is allowed. Pet fee: $50 for stays up to 2 days, $100 for up to 7 days, $150 for up to 14 days. Garbage Removal Guests are responsible for removing their own garbage. We will provide waste dump site details before arrival. We can arrange removal for an additional $100 if preferred, as there is no public waste collection at this property. Water, Plumbing and Septic This cottage operates on a septic system. Only bodily waste and biodegradable toilet paper may be flushed. No feminine hygiene products (including products labeled flushable), solid food waste, coffee grounds, or grease should go down any drain. Any sewage backup caused by improper use will be charged back to the guest. The cottage is on a well. Tap water is drinkable and tested for quality annually. You are welcome to bring your own water as well. Guest Count Infants and children must be included in the total guest count and added to the reservation. This helps us prepare the home and ensures we stay within occupancy limits. Water Quality Natural environmental changes can occasionally affect the area and are outside our control. Please ask us about any current water quality reports before or during your stay. If we receive any relevant information after your booking but before your arrival, we will notify you promptly. Booking and ID Requirements We may ask guests to provide valid government-issued ID prior to confirming a reservation. Deposits may be required. Home Notice While we take great pride in maintaining the property and respond to maintenance issues as quickly as possible, this is still a home with hundreds of appliances, fixtures, and amenities. On rare occasions, unexpected equipment failures can occur during a stay. If something isn’t working properly, please let us know right away. We’ll make every reasonable effort to repair or replace the item as quickly as possible. Please note that certain specialty items or parts may require ordering and cannot always be replaced the same day. Profiles with a review rating below 4.8 stars are not eligible for instant booking. If a reservation confirms through the system regardless, it may be cancelled. New profiles without reviews will be reviewed manually and may be subject to screening before a reservation is confirmed.
