We provide private access to Trá Mór, one of Ireland’s most untouched beaches, where golden sands and ocean views often feel entirely your own. (not a swimming beach) Discover Donegal’s coastline, then head back to the village for traditional music, lively pubs and superb dining, the perfect balance of rest and adventure. The space The Garden Nook The Garden Nook is a newly refurbished, bright two-bedroom, one bathroom, detached home offering contemporary comfort in a peaceful setting. Living Area The open-plan living space blends a comfortable lounge and dining area, featuring a large L-shaped sofa, a generous LED TV with Netflix and Disney, plus Alexa for entertainment. A wide patio door opens onto a mature garden and patio area, ideal for relaxing outdoors. Kitchen The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, oven, hob, under-counter fridge, kettle, toaster, and dishwasher—everything you need for preparing meals with ease. Bedrooms Both bedrooms are beautifully designed and furnished to a high standard: Bedroom 1: A king-size bed (US queen) with a memory foam and coil spring mattress, complete with luxury bed linens. Bedroom 2: A flexible space featuring a triple bunk bed, a separate single bed, a sofa bed, a TV, and an Xbox One with two controllers, making it perfect for families or groups. Bathroom The bathroom features a power shower with a large rain head, a vanity unit with a basin, and a WC. Towels, soap, shampoo, and shower gel are all provided for your convenience. The bathroom is situated on the ground floor. Outdoor Area The well-maintained front garden includes a swingset and a seating area, perfect for enjoying the fresh air. Sleeping Capacity The Garden Nook comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests. Arrival Information On arrival, there is designated parking adjacent to the guest house. The security box is located by the main door on the side. Other Information Check-in: From 4pm (via security box) Departure: By 10am No dogs are permitted. Strictly no additional guests during the day or night. No parties or events allowed. Electric Vehicle Policy Please note there is no provision for charging electric vehicles, and charging vehicles via standard sockets is not permitted. --- The Local Area The Garden Nook is situated just a short distance from the vibrant tourist town of Dunfanaghy, offering a wide range of activities for adventure seekers. There is an excellent choice of restaurants and cafés where you can enjoy great food, live music, and beautiful sunsets. Dunfanaghy is an ideal base for discovering the breathtaking landscapes of Donegal, whether you prefer scenic drives, outdoor pursuits, or simply soaking up the atmosphere. Top Things to Do in Dunfanaghy and Surroundings Killahoey Beach: A long sandy Blue Flag beach ideal for swimming, walking, or horse riding, with stunning views of Horn Head and surrounding mountains. Horn Head: A must-visit for spectacular coastal views, whether driving or hiking to the summit for panoramic Atlantic vistas. Ards Forest Park: A tranquil escape with scenic walking trails through woodland, beaches, and along the shores of Sheephaven Bay. Guest access Access Information Access to The Garden Nook is via a security key box. The code and location details will be sent to you via message 24 hours before your arrival. Other things to note The Garden Nook - Additional Information The Garden Nook is located next to working farms, so guests may occasionally hear livestock noises (which are rare), farm machinery, and experience the occasional farm aromas. There may also be times where the access to the beach is not possible due to cows calfing, due to their protective natures, it may be unsafe. Additionally, the lane leading to the entrance of The Garden Nook can be a bit bumpy and uneven at times, but it’s manageable for most vehicles. We hope this adds to the charm and rural ambiance of the area! Tramore Beach is one of the most breathtaking stretches of coastline in the area, with golden sands and sweeping ocean views. It’s perfect for long walks, shell collecting, and taking in the sea air. Please note, however, that due to strong currents and rip tides, it’s not suitable for swimming, however, Dunfanghy is surrounded by some of the most beautiful, blue flag beaches Ireland has to offer.
