Starr Mountain Cabin

Highlighted by the beautiful backdrop of the Starr Mountain Range, this cabin is the ultimate getaway for the whole family. Located on a family farm, it is not uncommon to look out of the window and see horses, cows, or goats peacefully grazing. The Cherokee Forest is only five minutes away offering hiking, picnic areas, and playgrounds and the Hiwassee River for endless recreation like fishing, kayaking, and tubing. The Tennessee Valley Railroad runs nearby as well and offers scenic day trips. The space This cozy cabin is all one level for maximum accessibility. However, please note that the cabin being over a hundred years old, the floors are not as even as a modern house’s would be. The side door has no step going into the house, so it is fully accessible. However, there is just a small offset. There is another small offset going into the bathroom, and another one approaching the front door/ second bedroom. These are not difficult to navigate, but our guests with navigational challenges should be aware of these areas. (Note: we have amended most of these areas with transition ramps as of June 2025. The house is now quite accessible.) Your space includes two bedrooms with two queen beds and a bunk bed. A sunroom includes a fold-out bed that can sleep two as well. Please note also that this room is not climate controlled. You are welcome to open the door to the main area of the house for access to heat and air if you're using this room for sleeping. The cabin also has a full kitchen, stocked with dishes, pots and pans, and almost any kind of kitchen tools needed. Your stay at Starr Mountain Cabin is truly a step back to nature. The front porch offers a beautiful view to the balmy, tree covered yard, and a covered porch is attached with a grill and outdoor dining set. The side porch and massive front windows give an excellent view to the mountain behind the house. No WiFi or television is offered to encourage more engagement with the outdoors, but cell service is generally excellent. Guest access Guests have full access to the entire cabin, with the exception of a small cleaning closet. We want our guests to feel like this is their home. The farm environment is family friendly and always welcoming guests, but the house itself is private and fully yours! We will give you as much privacy as you would like, but you are on a family farm, so we will only be a short walk away if you need help with anything.
