Sweet old home between Callicoon & Narrowsburg
Nestled on a 1-lane (yet 2-way) short road in Cochecton, this charming old home is perfectly situated to explore the nearby towns of Callicoon, Narrowsburg & Bethel Woods. The home was built in the late 1800s (w/ addition in the 80s) and is on the National Register of Historic places. It's rustic, quaint, and cozy and definitely has some soul! If you are looking for immaculate-modern, this place is not for you! Ping-pong, croquet, trampoline, fire pit and 2 kayaks! The space This house is perfect for a family or group of friends— enjoy a campfire, gaze at the stars, grill out on the Weber gas grill (or the charcoal grill), play lawn sports (badminton, croquet), jump on the trampoline, and you are welcome to use our bikes & helmets. We have 2 sit-on-top kayaks (you’ll need an suv type car to get them to river). There are puzzles, games, a karaoke machine, and many children's books. There's high-speed internet with Spectrum— works for multi users if doing remote learning and/or work from home. Also a Roku TV to watch anything through streaming services. There are window AC units in all 3 bedrooms and plenty of fans around the house. House is walking distance to the Delaware river, playground, and baseball field. We have a two bluetooth speakers. Nearest grocery store is 5 miles away in Callicoon. House is just 11 miles to Bethel Woods if you are concert goers. You can book river trips through Landers for canoeing, kayaking, or tubing on the river. If you are hoping to ski in winter months, your best bet is Ski Big Bear at Masthope Mountain, which is 35 minutes away. We are happy to share our old sweet home and glad that others can give it some love when we are not here. Note: we have a small dog and she spends time in the house so just mentioning in case you have any severe allergies. We lived in the area for 15 years with our 2 kids and moved to Philadelphia a few years ago and we now use the house as a getaway. We do consider allowing pets on a case-by-case basis. If you wish to bring your pet, please send in your booking inquiry: weight, age, and anything you think we should know hosting your pet. There is a flat $100 pet fee for all stays. Thanks for reading! Just let me know any questions. Guest access You can access the whole home except attic. Please only use basement for laundry. It is a very unfinished basement. If there is significant rainfall the basement can get some water-- (welcome to the Catskills!). We have a dehumidifier and a sump pump in case. Other things to note It's always a great time to visit the Catskills.
