The space This charming 3-bedroom, 2-bath farmhouse is your ideal mountain retreat. Conveniently located near several local colleges, the Appalachian Trail, and Wintergreen Ski Resort, it’s perfect for guests looking to unwind and explore. The home is thoughtfully designed for comfort and ease. The fully equipped kitchen features brand-new stainless steel appliances, sleek granite countertops, a Keurig single-serve coffee maker, and a five-cup mini brew. You'll find a selection of coffee pods, teas, and hot chocolate conveniently stocked in the kitchen. Start your mornings on the front porch in a rocking chair, coffee in hand, while enjoying peaceful views of the surrounding farmland—you might even spot our Angus cows grazing nearby. This one-level home is filled with natural light from large windows and includes a small workspace, flat-screen TVs in each bedroom, and a spacious master suite with a cozy sitting area—making it a true home away from home. Guest access Our guests have exclusive access to the entire farmhouse, nestled within scenic pastureland. We invite you to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Please note, as this is a working farm, our family may occasionally access the property to retrieve tractors or other equipment as needed. We’ll always do our best to minimize any disruption. We kindly ask that guests avoid feeding the cows or interacting with any farm equipment. Thank you for your understanding! Other things to note WILDLIFE: This farmhouse is the perfect place to unwind and experience nature. This is a rural area and wildlife are common. This may include deer, fox, possums, eagles, hawks, skunks, bears, snakes, and others. Please use common sense. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: - NO SMOKING OF ANY KIND (this includes vaping) - NO college students or Spring Break groups - Children are more than welcome to stay at the farmhouse, but please be aware that you will have to bring your own pack and play/crib, etc. - Amenities include free WIFI, streaming services and a fully equipped kitchen. - Guests receive a "starter pack" of dishwashing detergent for the kitchen along with adequate trash bags, paper towels and toilet paper for your stay. Both counties are home to some of the best breweries and wineries in Virginia. You will find Loose Shoe Brewing Company, Rebec Vineyards, Lazy Days Winery, Blue Mountain Brewery-Barrel House, Ankida Ridge Vineyards all within 20 minutes of the farmhouse. Further up Route 151 into Nelson County, you will find dozens more wineries and breweries only 30-45 minutes away. Some of our favorites this way includes Devil’s Backbone, Three Notch’d, Bold Rock, and Silver Back Distillery. For the active adventurers, you will find a wide range of hikes in the nearby Appalachian Trails, Priest Wilderness, James River State Park, Mount Pleasant and Crabtree Falls areas. Wintergreen Ski Resort is only a short drive away and offers year-round activities for the entire family. For golf enthusiasts, you will find the Winton Country Club only 3 miles away and just a little bit further is Poplar Grove and Shadow Ridge golf courses. Local restaurants in Amherst include Bonfire Burgers & Bourbon, Amherst Corner, Filling Station, Vito’s, El Mariachi, and Briar Patch.
