Stay in the heart of Schenectady's historic Stockade District. This apartment boasts ample charm and a view overlooking Polachek Square. It is less than 1/2 mile from Downtown Schenectady, Amtrak, and Proctor's Theatre. It is less than 1 mile from Union College. It is also ~30 minutes from SPAC and the Saratoga Race Track. This apartment sits above Arthur's Market, which offers specialty coffee, house-made baked goods, soups, salads, sandwiches, and specialty groceries. The space This apartment includes 2 bedrooms (1 queen bed, 2 twin beds) and 1.5 bathrooms. It has a full kitchen, light-filled living room, dining area, and a workspace. It also has its own washer and dryer. This second-floor apartment sits above Arthur's Market, which has served our neighborhood since it was built in 1795. Historic charms abound, including wavy glass, original brick, hardwood floors, and tin ceilings to name a few. Moreover, the view takes in the central circle of our neighborhood and its beautiful colonial and Victorian architecture. The apartment's position right above Arthur's Market, means you can roll out of bed for a cup of specialty coffee, fresh baked goods, and scratch-made breakfast sandwiches. You can also grab freshly made lunch items, take-and-bake dishes, grocery basics, beer, and cider all downstairs. Walking, running, and biking area all easily enjoyed from this location. The Mohawk River and Riverside Park are 1 block away, and the apartment sits along the Mohawk-Hudson Bike Path, which runs from Buffalo, NY to Albany, NY. Guest access This apartment is a self-sufficient unit and is not shared by Arthur's Market or any other residents. That said, it does sit above an active business, and the pathway to the access door crosses through the market's patio space, which is open to the public during the day. There is also an office adjacent to the apartment entrance at the top of the stairs that shares the stairway up to the second floor. Airbnb guests are welcome to enjoy the Arthur's Market patio during business hours and/or to book the patio for private events through Arthur's. The patio is not available to Airbnb guests outside of business hours. Other things to note It is important to note that this apartment is up a steep, narrow flight of stairs. There is a hand railing on the staircase, but it may not be easily accessible for all.
