Welcome to Grants Cottage, a beautifully refurbished former blacksmith’s cottage, nestled in the peaceful village of Charlton. Steeped in character and thoughtfully updated with modern comforts, this cosy two-bedroom retreat is the perfect base for exploring some of Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire’s most iconic destinations—including Silverstone, Soho Farmhouse, Bicester Village, Aynhoe Park, Diddly Squat Farm, and the magical Cotswolds. Our 17th Century Pub is worth visiting. The space Inside, you’ll find a welcoming sitting room with a charming Victorian fireplace, a small dining area, and tasteful decor featuring Farrow & Ball colours and beautiful printed fabrics. The fully equipped new kitchen opens out to a sweet courtyard garden—ideal for morning coffee or evening drinks under the stars. The cottage sleeps up to four guests, with one serene king-size bedroom and a second room featuring full-size, adult-strength bunk beds—perfect for families, couples or work. Please note: the original steep staircase adds to the cottage’s charm but may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. The brand-new shower room offers a refreshing space to unwind after a day of countryside adventures. Free on-street parking is available right outside, and the cottage backs onto the village green space and children’s playground just steps away. Whether you’re visiting for a weekend break, a local event, or a peaceful work-from-home retreat in the countryside, Grants Cottage offers a memorable and restful stay in the heart of rural England. Guest access Private access to the whole semi detached stone cottage in the heart of the village with a very good pub a few minutes walking distance. We try and meet and greet guests on arrival. There is also a key safe for those times when we aren’t able to . Other things to note Travel Conveniently located close to the A43 and the M40. King Sutton train station gives easy access to London, Birmingham, Bicester Village and Oxford. Co-op in Kings Sutton or Croughton and larger supermarkets in Brackley. All close by. No dogs upstairs No smoking or vaping in the cottage allowed. On street parking. Fantasic 17th Century pub in the village, dog friendly with great menu.
