We live and breath sustainability and so for our new home, we wanted to recycle as much as possible. With this in mind, we decided to save a house scheduled for demolition and move the entire thing from Melbourne to our farm! Yes, we recycled a whole house! Underneath, Briar Mountain Farmhouse is a period home, but it has all the creature comforts perfect for your next getaway. It is a 100% off-grid, 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home. It has been completely renovated with a modern touch, offering a stylish and comfortable space for families, friends - or even the solo traveler who wants all the space and tranquility to themselves. Briar Mountain Farmhouse is close enough to Mansfield (approx. 15mins drive) for the café’s and supplies, but far enough away to feel like there is no one else around. Mt Buller is only approximately 45mins drive away where you can hit the ski slopes in winter or tear up the single trails on your mountain bike in summer. For lovers of Lake Eildon, we are only a couple of minutes drove to the nearest boat ramp and swimming area at Macs Cove (you can see the lake from the property). Briar Mountain Farmhouse boasts an open-plan living area with a spacious kitchen that has been newly renovated with stone benchtops and all the equipment you need to whip up your own meals. Or if you prefer, grab a cold one and fire up the weber on the deck. Enjoy your meal, breakfast lunch and dinner, at the large dining table hand made by the property owner from recycled Australian timbers. When taking a break from the stresses and responsibilities of work and everyday life, it is important to feel well rested and relaxed, life is better after a good night’s sleep. To help with that, we provide premium quality MiniJumbuck doonas and underlays made from superior quality, 100% Australian wool and 100% cotton sheeting. In the morning after a good night’s sleep, while you look out over the mountain views, enjoy a fresh, hot coffee from the Nespresso Vertuo machine or a cup of tea from the selection provided with your stay. We provide 2 pods per adult per day for your stay, but for the coffee lovers who would like more, we recommend bringing more Nespresso Vertuo pods with you. The Master Bedroom features a queen-size bed and bedside tables hand crafted from Western Australian Jarrah timber. Touch lamps with USB charging ports provide both luxury and convenience. The master bedroom is appointed with a modern, luxurious ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom boasts a versatile bunk bed – a double bed on the bottom and a single bed on top. Bedding for all beds are premium quality, 100% Australian wool doonas and underlays by MiniJumbuck and 100% cotton sheeting, doona covers and pillow cases. The third bedroom has 2 x King Single beds (can also be pushed together as a King). The main bathroom is fully equipped with a bathtub, shower, toilet, hairdryer, and complimentary toiletries (shampoo, conditioner and body wash). And after that nice hot shower or bath, we provide 100% cotton toweling by Canningvale. Briar Mountain Farmhouse is the perfect place for both work and play. We have NBN access connected to the property for working remotely. There is a large screen TV for guest use however you will need to log in to your own streaming services/subscriptions (please be sure to log out also before your stay is over). Guest access You have access to the whole house, which accommodates up to 7 guests, and the 110-acre property to immerse yourself in nature. Main Bedroom with a Queen size bed and ensuite. 2nd Bedroom with a Double and single bunk bed. 3rd bedroom with 2 x King Single beds ( or place together as a King bed). A large bathroom with a bathtub and large shower. 2 Toilets. Laundry. Large inside and outside entertaining area. Modern Kitchen with everything you need as well as a Bbq on the deck. Dog friendly (with prior approval, additional cleaning charges may apply): We consider well-behaved and house-trained dogs on a case-by-case basis. Please inquire and receive approval at the time of booking. Please note: Dogs are strictly not allowed on furniture, beds or bedding. Also please note that the property fencing is for cattle and will not contain a dog. Guests will not have access to the shed or storage container.
