This Hilltop retreat awaits at the crest of Blacksburg mountain... just 5 minutes from VT campus and downtown adventures. Your entire gang will enjoy the home's open flow and thoughtful spaces between split-level living. Spacious accommodations up and downstairs deliver options to celebrate, hang, sleep and chill including 2 separate large living areas with stereo/TVs --plus private areas outside on the deck and patio. Bonus is the quiet street on a private loop--so little to no traffic. The space You will love the quiet neighborhood and beautiful vistas off the front and back deck in any season. During the winter there is a "mountain view" off the tree-lined back deck. In the summer as the trees fill in they create a lush private private oasis with multiple entertaining spots including shade gardens, relaxing decks, a bricked patio and backyard fire pit. I always wanted to live on a farm, so you will find touches throughout the house and property that reflect my urban-rustic, vintage boho, eclectic style. The house is split at the foyer-- a few steps up or down... - the upstairs offers a master space with full bath with a double head steam-style shower room. The 2 additional bedrooms on the main floor feature King and Queen beds and share the hall bath. This bath was designed with sharing in mind and includes a private pocket door for the toilet and offers 2 divided sink areas with storage for personal items. The fully-appointed kitchen and main living areas all flow together around the core of the house which features back to back gas fireplaces--in both the Dining and Living rooms. Downstairs features the second, more playful living area-- perfect for games and family time. The room offers a wet bar area, large TV, stereo surround sound, games closet, large rustic fireplace and opens out onto a bricked patio and backyard space for more entertaining options. Two additional bedrooms located downstairs include Queen beds and a Double/Double/Twin Bunk configuration for kids or extra sleeping options. As the crow flies, you about a mile off main street at the top of the hill across from the IMAX. Walking is possible--but it's a steep journey. Blacksburg is located on a plateau between the Blue Ridge and Allegheny mountains, and situated atop the Eastern Continental Divide at 2,080 feet (634 m) above sea level -- the Divide traverses the Virginia Tech Montgomery Executive Airport. There are 3 watershed systems in the state... my home is 2 doors down from the divider for the water that leads to the Chesapeake Bay, -- the other side heads to North Carolina sounds, or the Gulf of Mexico. That said-- we are just a few feet below the main water tower. There are times at peak demand where you happen to be taking a shower or doing dishes and could feel the drain/re-pressure cycle of the system. It's a weird quirk and in 13 years, I have experienced it only a handful of times. :) Guest access It's a secluded location yet near everything. The entire house is yours. Kitchen, laundry, bedrooms... Back yard too. There is NO ACCESS to the garage. Sorry- that's my workshop. Other things to note There is no access to the garage.
