This is a private bedroom in a beautiful home perched high above the town of Ketchikan with amazing sunset views of the waterfront and mountains! Watch as cruise ships, barges, and whales all float by from the balcony as you enjoy the sunset! The whole house is surrounded by fur trees with a small creek on one side that trickles down as you listen to the birds and water flow down the rocks. Your private downstairs furnished room has a forest and creek view with a beautiful queen bed!!! The space Welcome to Ketchikan, Alaska! My home is a large home with plenty of space to lounge around including a back deck which overlooks the incredible view! Your large private bedroom includes a queen bed and large closet with 2 windows and a view of the waterway/mountains! I have plenty of storage space if needed. Your shared bathroom is shared with another traveling professional, and is just next to your bedroom. The laundry room is just down the hall on the same floor as your bedroom! The shared living room, dining room, kitchen, and back deck are upstairs! Lounge around the house and enjoy the peaceful views anywhere you like! Don't worry, I provide all the daily essentials including toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, soap, linens, towels, and bottled water! No need to bring anything! I also provide a monthly cleaning service for the entire house, including your bedroom, at no cost to you!!! I am here to make sure you relax and enjoy your stay in Alaska!!! Guest access As a guest in my home, you can enjoy all the amenities my home has to offer including a large living area with a view, a large flat screen smart TV, and fast WiFi throughout the home. The shared kitchen is large with plenty of storage space. I also provide all the kitchen equipment you need including pots, pans, utensils, plates, and cups. Your bathroom is shared with another traveling professional guest. It is a tub/shower combo bathroom with one vanity. The laundry room is on the same floor as your private bedroom, so no hauling laundry up and down stairs. If you have a car (you won't need one!, see below), there is space in the driveway for it! During your stay I am happy to help you get to know this cute little town during your stay here! I will get you quickly acclimated to all the logistics and ins and outs of Ketchikan, Alaska and all it has to offer! I would be happy to pick you up from the airport and give you a tour upon your arrival! Other things to note This is a shared home with other traveling professionals staying in the other bedrooms. Every professional here for work is kind, courteous, and respectful. I live here also, and I am so happy and excited to share this beautiful place with you! I am available anytime, but I also respect your privacy! A few things to note and to keep in mind: The home is up a steep hill, so if you are walking and taking the bus everywhere, just keep in mind that you will have to walk uphill for about 5-8 minutes to get up to the house. Walking down to town or down to the hospital is no big deal!! Sometimes on cold winter days, you will need to wear good tread shoes in case there is ice on the hill to walk down it early in the morning. Also, keep in mind Ketchikan, Alaska gets upwards of 12 feet of rain per year! They call this area Alaska's rain forest! I highly recommend bringing a high end raincoat that covers top and bottom and waterproof shoes for walking around in. Even if the chance for rain is 10%, it can still rain hard at anytime! Don't worry, there are some beautiful sunny days here too! Also remember, Alaska has long summer days with sunlight and long winter nights with darkness. This can be difficult to adjust to, but I will definitely give you some tips for adjusting! Also remember, this is black bear country! Bears come out at night to search the street garbage cans and to look for food. Humans are not considered bear food! Just be cautious at night and never run away if you see one! Just make noise and wave your arms, and they will typically run the other way. For grocery store/Wal Mart runs, I am happy to arrange transport for you at no cost so that you don't have to haul everything uphill! Just ask!
