This renovated, mid-century modern home on a quarter acre lot is nestled in trees on a quiet street walkable to downtown White Salmon. The kitchen is very well stocked, offers both whole house and under the sink filtered water, and 2 ovens. The home features views of Mt. Hood and the Columbia River and a deck in the back to enjoy a barbecue. There is a dedicated workspace, robust Wifi, a gas insert fireplace, and smart TV. The space You will be staying in a classic 1950’s split level home that has been carefully renovated to retain all the mid-century character and charm. Warm woods, rugged masonry, and massive picture frame windows. The view from nearly every window in the house gives the feeling of being surrounded by a forest rather than being just a 9 minute walk to downtown White Salmon. From those windows you can also gaze at the Columbia River, Bingen Point, Hospital Hill and, seasonally, Mount Hood. Our wonderful trees provide lots of privacy and shade in the summer, but do block the views of the mountain as well. You can sit in the provided lawn chairs in the yard on the east side of the house to view the mountain unobstructed while enjoying a beverage or conversation or both. Mid-century homes were all about large communal spaces and this home exemplifies that. On the main level you will find a massive 15 x 24 living room tastefully decorated and the perfect place to sit and watch the quail, deer and rabbits frolic in the yard or ponder the salmon migrating up and down the Columbia. Downstairs you will find an equally large family room with sectional seating, a 65” high-end smart TV, gas insert fireplace and full size desk for all your entertainment and work needs. The kitchen has lots of countertop space for preparing your meals. In the numerous cabinets and drawers you will find all the implements you need to prepare, cook and serve just about anything you can imagine. Enjoy a quick cup of coffee from the Keurig or brew a pot for the entire group. Tea drinkers will certainly appreciate the instant hot water dispenser. We provide you with a selection of organic coffee pods and organic tea bags to get you started. The whole house is served by a Radiant Life water filter and the dispensers at the sink and refrigerator are filtered even further with an under sink unit that removes even residual pharmaceuticals from the water. Directly off the kitchen is the dining room with a large table and chairs for six. Out the French doors in the dining room is the deck with a teak wood table, seating for six and a gas BBQ grill. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms and the main bathroom. All three of these bedrooms have a queen sized bed. The main bathroom offers a tub/shower. Downstairs at the mid-level, you will find the fourth bedroom with a twin over full bunkbed, the second bathroom with a tiled shower stall and the laundry room. There is a 2-car carport and room for two more vehicles in the driveway. There is usually ample street parking directly in front of the house for two more vehicles. Welcome to our Grandview Classic. Please leave your worries and your shoes at the door. This is a strictly shoes-off home. Once you see our fully restored hardwood floors, you will understand why. Hotel slippers are provided for your convenience or feel free to bring your own or go without. Guest access You will have access to the entire home, backyard and carport. The garage is not available to guests.
