Dunes Forest Hideaway
Dunes Forest Hideaway
Description
Guest suite with private entrance that is separated from the rest of the house. Nestled in the heart of the Indiana Dunes, this is a perfect launching pad to the best the Dunes has to offer. The property is mere feet from the National Park and is built on a sand dune. The South Shore Train Station (access to Chicago) is around the corner. Indiana Dunes Visitors Center, Porter Beach, Indiana Dunes State Park, Cowles Bog, Little Calumet River, & dozens of hiking trails are all within 1-2 miles The space The space is essentially a studio apartment in a quiet, wooded, neighborhood located in the Indiana Dunes. You will have a private entrance and the space is separated from the rest of the home. It's ideal if you want to explore the Indiana Dunes during the day and need a quiet spot to rest at night. Newly constructed in 2024. Very clean. It has a king size bed. The kitchenette is stocked with dishware and has a sink, microwave, induction hotplate (see House Manual under the online 'Arrival Guide' for instructions), and refrigerator. The bathroom has a full shower and soft water. Comes with extra blankets and towels. It has all of the essentials you would get in a hotel room and then some. Guest access The guest suite is on the lower level. The home faces north and the guest access is on the west side of the house next to the retaining wall. There are no stairs. You will have your own patio equipped with a table and a couple of chairs. Park in front of the right (west) garage door. Enjoy the neighborhood. It's a great area to watch the birds, squirrels, and other wildlife. Other things to note Arguably the best way to experience the Indiana Dunes is by bike. On busy weekends, traffic and parking lines can be long, but bicycles let you easily explore the park and trails. The location has easy access to local bike trails. As our guest, you can rent a quality pedal bike from Bike the Dunes for just $20 per bike, per night. Your bike will be waiting at the guest suite when you arrive, and you can simply leave it there when you check out. (2 nights = $40, 3 nights = $60, etc.) You'll also receive 25% off all rentals from our Bike the Dunes storefront at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center. Please send me a message if you'd like to reserve your bike before your stay.
