Cozy Loft in Historic Nordnes
Description
Loft in the heart of the historic Nordnes district with space for up to six guests. Two bedrooms and an additional loft space in a modernized old wooden house. The perfect combination (in our opinion) of modern comfort and the charm of Bergen's traditional architecture. The view is spectacular yet private, overlooking the city centre and harbour in one direction, and Nordnes boulevard in the other. 8 minute walk to the tram-station. Perfect location for both relaxation and adventures. The space A Loft with Character and Comfort: Step into a spacious living area where contemporary design meets cozy comfort. This old Bergen-house was retrofitted in 2017. Today, the open-plan layout features a well-appointed kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances, perfect for preparing meals with local ingredients (we love cooking, so the kitchen has everything from a food processor, slow cooker and good knives). Relax on the comfortable sofa while taking in the breathtaking views from the large windows that flood the space with natural light. The bathroom was fully renovated in 2017 and is modern with floor heating for rainy days, shower cabinet, combined washer and dryer and a rooftop view. Outside the entrance door, you’ll find a small park and recreational space with view of the vity. Perfect for bringing your breakfast, dinner or yoga-session outside on a sunny day. Serene Sleeping Spaces: The main bedroom boasts a plush king-sized bed (180 x 200 cm), ensuring a restful night's sleep. The second bedroom, a bit smaller, offers a queen sized bed (150 x 200 cm), making it ideal for lovey dovey couples and very good friends. Ascend to the loft area, where you'll find a cozy nook with an additional double bed, providing a unique sleeping experience where you can watch the stars from bed through the roof windows. Explore the Local Area: Situated in Nordnes, one of Bergen's most picturesque and historic neighborhoods, this loft is perfectly positioned for both relaxation and adventure. The area is known for its colorful wooden houses, narrow cobbled streets, and proximity to the water. Stroll through Nordnes Park, just a stone's throw away, where you can enjoy peaceful walks, picnics by the sea, and views of the totem pole gifted by Seattle for Bergen's 900-year anniversary. Prime Location for Urban Adventures: From the apartment, you're just a short walk from some of Bergen's most iconic sights. Explore Bryggen wharf, a UNESCO World Heritage site (alternatively, on a lazy day you can just stay in and watch Bryggen from the window). St. Mary’s Church, dating back to the 12th century, offers a glimpse into Bergen's medieval past. Don't miss the opportunity to ride the Fløibanen funicular for panoramic views of the city and surrounding fjords (challenge: can you manage to see our house from Mount Fløien?) Must-Try Experiences: - Bar Barista: Try a waffle with Norwegian brown cheese at this homely café in Øvregaten. - Løvetann Café & Bistro: Grab a coffee to go from your doorstep on your way to an urban stroll. - Bien Basar: Indulge in "persetorsk" (crushed cod). Across Vidden: Embark on a scenic hike between - Fløyen and Ulriken, offering stunning fjord views. 4-5 hour walk. - Michelin Restaurants: Experience outstanding gastronomy at BARE, Lysverket, Colonialen 44, and 1877.
