Description

Authentic, with magnificent views, "la Maison Seigneuriale" was the former residence of Lord Roquesante (1619-1707), built in the 17th century on the southern fortifications of the village of Grambois with parts of the house dating from the 14th century. Restored and furnished over several decades, it is one of the most authentic examples of a Provençal Renaissance house adapted to contemporary life. The space Renaissance house with private pool. Two terraces and garden. Listed spiral staircase, with vaulted ceilings, decorated with 19th-century neo-Gothic plaster work. The facades of the house, with their restored original mullioned windows, on the north side, have a view of the medieval village of Grambois, the castle and the bell tower of the 11th century church Notre-Dame de Beauvoir. On the south side, it offers panoramic and spectacular views of the Luberon and its vineyards. The furniture includes Renaissance fireplaces, a pair of 18th-century Provençal grain jars and various wall tapestries. The village of Grambois and the house itself appear in the film "La gloire de mon père" and "Le château de ma mère", based on the novels of Marcel Pagnol, and more recently on the film "Mother's Milk" by Gerry Fox and "You and Eye" by Shemie Reut, and in 2022 "Le temps des secrets".
