Description
Lost Cottage is typically a small, granite & slate, Cornish cottage. You’ll find it right in the heart of the Medieval town of Lostwithiel. This ancient stannary town dates back to the 12th century & it's one of the most vibrant & lively communities in Cornwall. Car parking in Lostwithiel is free both on-street & in the public car parks. Lost Cottage, a lovely, comfortable, 2 double bed cottage, perfectly placed for exploring the beautiful town & surrounding countryside, & the rest of Cornwall. The space The living areas in the cottage consist of a compact & modern kitchen with an induction hob/extractor fan, combi microwave oven grill, air fryer combi, small fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/drier. A dining/living room with a small table, one chair & tailor made bench for sitting at the table, a 3 seater sofa, a smart tv, wifi. The bathroom is downstairs with a modern, step-in shower, heated towel rail, mirrored bathroom cabinet with built-in sensor light. The two bedrooms upstairs are both doubles, light & airy with lovely window views. One room has a twin zip bed, to allow for two single beds if needed (this needs to be requested upon your booking so we can make them up). The slightly larger bedroom has a dressing table & stool, a double open wardrobe with two lower drawers & bedside tables & a full length mirror. Guest access All guests have full access to the cottage. Other things to note The light switch near the front door – the switch nearest the door operates the outside light, please leave it switched on so the motion sensor will activate the light when you’re on the doorstep, which is very dark at night, totally in shadow. We have an external Ring doorbell which situated just above the key safe box. The Kitchen: The switch for the Kitchen water heater is under the sink, the nearest/first plug socket. The Bathroom: (Ground floor) The switch for the bathroom water heater is on the wall to the left of the basin cabinet. The bathroom fan isolator is high up above the water heater switch The shower isolator switch is the larger one, between the other two. Bed linen, duvets, pillows, towels, tea-towels & bath mat are supplied. One well behaved small dog is allowed but we kindly request that they do not go on the furnishings or in the bedrooms please. Where possible please bring their bedding or cage. We also ask our guests to respect keeping their paws clean when entering the cottage when the weather is wet. No smoking or vapes please. Note: No stag/hen or similar parties please. The cottage is not suitable for people with disabilities due to the 3 step ups into the cottage. No children under 8, due to the staircase being steep & slightly open-plan, plus rooms aren’t suitable for cots - sorry!
