Originally built by the Countess of Gallway for her son, it has remained in the Goulaine family for generations. On August 10, 1944, the château and its surrounding village were liberated. • Every year, officers from Saint-Cyr and the Saumur Cavalry School visit to study the battlefield operations. This was also the meeting point for the American forces and General Leclerc’s 2nd Armored Division before their march to liberate Paris.
