Search "MarabutGetaway" The space The property itself offers one main house with 3 cottages, a volleyball net, and 1 hammock by the water. The house boasts a beautiful room upstairs with a lovely deck to enjoy the sunrise or sunset. Downstairs you will find an open-air living space that offers a lounging area, a small kitchen, a bathroom, an indoor shower, and an outdoor shower. When not in the house, wander over to one of the three cottages or hammock to relax and enjoy the beach. Or get a group of friends together for an impromptu volleyball game. The bedroom upstairs includes: - One (1) queen bed (sleeps 2) - One (1) bunk bed which offers Two (2) single beds (sleeps 2) - One (1) bunk bed which offers one (1) double bed on bottom and one (1) single bed on top (sleeps 3) - One (1) fold-out couch (sleeps 2) - One (1) fold-out bed (sleeps 1) -sheets for the beds -ten towels Amenities include: -high speed wi-fi provided by Starlink Satellites -air-conditioning (aircon) for the bedroom upstairs only -a fan for the downstairs open-air living space -a fridge and freezer to keep your food and drinks cold -a 2-burner gas stovetop with 1 pot and 2 pans to cook and 1 ladle and 1 spatula -a mini portable grill available to grill some small things (please bring charcoal though as we don't have any available) -rice cooker -electric kettle to heat up water for coffee or tea We have enough plates, glasses, and silverware for the guests who would stay in the room upstairs. Specifics include: -16 pcs plates -8 pcs saucers -8 pcs soup bowls -4 pcs small cups w/saucers -10 coffee mugs -1 dozen silverware (spoon & forks) -2 pcs pitchers -4 pcs food containers/serving dish While our Airbnb is located next to beautiful beaches and other fine resorts such Caluwayan Palm Island Resort and LaYao Beach Resort, we do not have a restaurant on the premises so guests should bring all the ingredients to cook such as oil, seasonings, ingredients, etc. Additionally, if you are staying for a celebration event, it is recommended to bring pre-made food from a catering company. There are small sari-sari stores nearby to grab some small items which may be forgotten, but we recommend bringing most things from home as our location is fairly remote. The largest city nearby is Basey, Samar. There is no corkage fee as guests are encouraged to bring their own food and drink 🙂 In addition to the above, other things we don't have at this time to offer are: -we don't have extra beds -we don't have any extra sleeping bags Although we don't have any extra beds and sleeping bags, many of our guests have brought their own tents to sleep outside near the beach and enjoy the sound of the ocean during the night. We also have 5 tents available for rent if you are interested. Please let us know prior to your arrival if you would like to reserve a tent and we can make sure the tents are available for you. The tents can fit 3-4 pax and the rate is 200 pesos/tent per night. Other details: Travel time is approximately 45-60 minutes from Tacloban City. Price indicated gives up to 15 guests access to the property. For any guest above 15, there is a charge of 200 Php/pax per night to access the property. Fee starts with the 16th guest. Guests 5 years old and below are free of charge up to 5 kids. 6th kid will be charged Php 200. Toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and toilet paper are available. There is a bidet in the toilet. We recommend bringing bug spray and sunscreen. Event Fee: P15,000 We charge an additional reception fee of Php 15,000 on top of our overnight rate. For guests spending the night, regular nightly rate applies. Guests to provide their own catering service and decorations. Early Check-In/Late Check-Out Fee: P500/hour This is subject to approval and availability on the day of. Photoshoot Fee: P5,000 Good for 6 hours Limited to 10 pax max. Only available Monday - Thursday (Subject to Availability) Guest access When you rent out our home you are given access to the whole property to enjoy. Other things to note Also here are some recommended activities in the area: -Sohoton Caves and Natural Bridge Park -Saob Cave and Mat Weaving / Banig Products -Local Fish Market in Osmenia -Boat Tour Rentals to see the Marabut Cliffs around the water. You can rent the boat from Caluwayan. -Rent a Karaoke Machine to sing at the House (our caretaker can help you find this) (subject to availability and price is somewhere around 800 php from a local vendor) -Try fresh caught crab (our caretaker can help you find this) -the following are also available to rent from a local vendor should you need extra for a large party: Table - 60 pesos, Chair - 15 pesos Umbrella - 30 pesos (prices are approximate and subject to change based on the local vendor) Check-out our Marabut Guidebook for activity recommendations nearby! Please note that there have been instances of brown-outs in the area whenever the local electric company is doing maintenance. We currently do not have a back-up generator, but the brown-outs are fairly infrequent. We hope that it should not cause an issue with your stay. Please also note that while the beaches are beautiful, Marabut is also known for jelly fish sightings near the beach. These jelly fish stings can be harmful so we recommend being aware of your surroundings when in the water. The height of the jelly fish season is known to be in June and July and we recommend our guests to exercise elevated caution during these times. That being said, our caretaker will be on-site the whole time during your stay should you need any help with anything.
