The Snug, Holmfirth

Approximately 15 min walk to Holmfirth's cafés, bars and live music venue, with off-road parking adjacent. Furnished with a scandi vibe, over one floor, the hotel-style bedroom comprises a comfy double bed, Wi-Fi, smart TV, fridge, kettle & crockery for pre-bought dining. Patio doors give access to outdoor space with seating and fire-pit. Firewood available on request. The bathroom offers an electric shower, cloakroom basin, toilet and towel rail. A perfect base to explore the Holme Valley. The space The Snug is attached to our family home. You'll have a very comfortable stay here, whether you are visiting the area for the beautiful countryside or to see our lovely mill town nestled in the Pennines. Either way you'll enjoy a warm welcome. The Snug is a self-contained stay with private parking for one vehicle. Upon arrival you will find the porch where you can leave your walking boots. We are blessed with extensive walks onto the moors and reservoirs. Indeed it's not far to the Pennine Way. From The Snug you can enjoy a meander cross country down into Holmfirth town centre. If you fancy a cycling challenge there's the epic Holme Moss hill climb nearby and for an off-road trail ride, the Trans Pennine Trail starts at Dunford Bridge. By arrangement you can store your bicycles in our garage. Easily accessible, there is just one step into the entrance vestibule where you can leave shoes, coats and clothes on the hangers provided. An automatic light will come on so that you can see the light switch! The hotel-style bedroom has a comfy double bed where you can relax, watch TV and enjoy a cuppa or a glass of something cold from the fridge. There are plenty of pillows and cushions, as well as a throw. The modern electric radiator is simple to use and very efficient. Complimentary Yorkshire Tea and Taylors coffee, together with basic crockery, can be found in the cupboard for pre-bought food. Don't worry about a lack of kitchen though... have a few days off all that cooking! There are two pubs in the village of Netherthong, a 5 minute uphill walk, which both serve food. Alternatively there's a wealth of restaurants, cafés and bars in the Holmfirth area, or Lidl, Aldi, Co-op and Sainsbury's supermarkets close by. The newly refurbished, spacious en-suite shower-room has an electric shower. In the cupboard under the basin you'll find a shower mat if you would prefer to use one, complimentary sanitary products and a basic first aid kit - please check for allergies if using any products.Again a night light will come on automatically for convenience. To the outside, there is a private patio area, with seating and a fire-pit for you to enjoy the Yorkshire summers! Firewood available on request. From your patio you will see our working vegetable garden and greenhouse. Feel free to have a mooch and pick any ripe strawberries if you're lucky! For your safety, the steps down to the air raid shelter are out of bounds. If you have any further questions about the accommodation, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Guest access Guests can access all of the space. Please feel free to wander in the vegetable plot but be mindful of the usual trip and slip hazards found in a garden if you do so.
