The space El Colibrí Farm is a dream destination for nature lovers. Surrounded by breathtaking views of mountains, forests, and open landscapes, the farm is a peaceful and beautiful place full of birds and local wildlife. Whether you enjoy birdwatching, picking fresh fruit directly from the trees, or relaxing in a hammock with a hot cup of coffee, this is the perfect place to slow down and enjoy nature. Walkers, hikers, and adventure seekers will all find something to love here. We strive to live sustainably and grow as much of our own food as possible, regularly planting new fruits and vegetables. Communication is easy—both hosts are fluent in English and Swedish, and Felipe also speaks Spanish and Portuguese. El Colibrí Farm consists of three separate properties: the Nordic House where we live, a main house that is also available for Airbnb rentals, and the private Bamboo House located in the backyard. Each house is completely private for the guests who book it. We share our farm with two friendly dogs and three cats, who are part of daily life here and love welcoming visitors. The farm is located just 3 km from the town of Quimbaya, where you’ll find grocery stores, restaurants, and souvenir shops. We are also close to Filandia—our favorite nearby town—known for its colorful houses, excellent restaurants, and charming shops. Filandia is about a 20-minute drive away and is also accessible by public transportation. Other popular attractions nearby include Parque del Café, Panaca Animal Park, Salento, Valle del Cocora, and the Botanical Garden in Armenia. El Colibrí is a private farm, not a hotel or resort. It is tucked away from the main road, offering a very quiet environment free from traffic and noise. The farm is accessible by public transportation, mainly the iconic Willys Jeeps used in the area—an experience in itself, whether you sit inside or stand on the back holding onto the roof bars. Adventurous or crazy? You decide. If you prefer, we can also arrange pickup from the airport or another location using our own car. Guests arriving with their own vehicle are welcome to use our parking area, and the access roads are in good condition and suitable for most types of cars. Guest access Guests have full, private access to the Bambu House they have rented. The backyard, where the Bambu House is located, is for your exclusive use, including the private jacuzzi next to the house. Parking is shared with guests from the main house and with us, the hosts. Other things to note El Colibrí Farm is a rural, nature-based property, not a hotel or resort. Being surrounded by nature means you may see insects, birds, and other wildlife, and hear natural farm sounds, especially at night and early in the morning. The climate can be cooler in the evenings, and occasional rain is part of the region’s charm, so we recommend bringing appropriate clothing. We share the property with friendly dogs and cats who live freely on the farm. Transportation in the area is mainly by Willys Jeeps, which operate on set routes and schedules.
