Our place is a quaint villa in the heart of the charming town of Coonoor. It's spacious and is dressed with rare antique furniture that my family has collected over the years. You can enjoy waking up to the sounds of the birds and sip your morning tea on the balcony while overlooking the lush tea gardens. The house is tucked away yet close to the city centre - public transport, sightseeing spots like Sim's Park and cafes and restaurants. The space Welcome to our home! If you are someone who loves travelling back in time, you've come to the right place! Alpinia spaciously spread over 5,400 square feet will immerse you into a magical era goneby. As you walk in through the front door you will notice the warm wooden floor with a rainbow of deep browns that sprawls across the entire house. The ground floor has the a roomy yet cosy living room, one bedroom and a bathroom, that’s not attached. A spiral staircase leads to the first floor which opens out into the dinning room with an attached pantry. On either side of the dinning room are two large bedroom. One with a balcony that opens up to the aromas of the grand old Eucalyptus tree, that will whisky you away as you get lost into the magical sunset. The other is the grand master bedroom, that proudly houses one of the largest vintage beds that we have ever seen, spanning close to 10 feet! This iconic bed once belonged to the Royal family of Nagpur. All the rooms have a beautiful study area, making it the most perfect peaceful spot for a workation or exam study time. You will also find cozy corners by the windows, where you can get engrossed into a lovely book, a warm blanket and a hot cup of tea when it rains outside. Around the house you will find fresh flowers, harvested from our very own garden that promises a rainbow of colours throughout the year. To access this garden, you will find a stairway outside the main door, that leads down to a common area with a beautiful little gazebo adorned with the most gorgeous pot of gold creepers. For our complementary breakfast enjoy the simplicity of yummy home made idlis, tomato chutney, upma and uttapam made from Alpinia’s famous grandmother Paati’s recipe carried on for generations.
