Cozy family cottage in Úthlíð near Golden Circle

Relax with the whole family or friends at this peaceful place in Úthlíð nearby the Golden Circle. The cottage offers a delightful blend of coziness, nature, convenience of location and is perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. It is an ideal retreat for a memorable Icelandic getaway. The cottage is in a closed area, the service center in Úthlíð has a restaurant and bar. Locations close by: Þingvellir, Gullfoss, Geysir, Laugarvatn, Fontana Spa, Efsti-Dalur, Reykholt, Friðheimar, Flúðir The space The cottage is 75m2, family friendly with a fully equipped kitchen, BBQ grill, bathroom with shower and hot tub (new since June 2024). It has 4 small bedrooms (access to the bed from one side only) and with the 5th bedroom in the sleeping attic. Up to the sleeping attic is a steep ladder, please take note of that for your safety if you intend to use the sleeping attic. Bedroom 1: Single bed (120x200cm) Bedroom 2: Double bed (140x200cm) Bedroom 3: Double bed (140x200cm) Bedroom 4: Single bed (120x200cm) Bedroom 5 (sleeping attic): 4x 80x200cm beds + 4 additional 80x200cm mattresses The cottage is 2 units connected with a hallway. In one end there are the bedrooms and bathroom and in the other end the living room and kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped and tableware for 12 persons + tableware for children. Above the kitchen there is a "play & enjoy" attic where you will find some toys for kids and a cozy place to chill and read a book! Up to this area is a steep ladder. In the hallway you have the front door to the patio and the back door to the hot tub & backyard. Around the cottage is a 120m2 patio in all directions except to the west side. Patio in the back is new since June 2024. Examples of size: Fits very nicely up to 6 adults or two families (4 adults+kids). Please note that you can drink the cold water and due to the geothermal water (hot water) you might find a different smell or taste than you are used to but the water is natural and clean. Guest access You will have full access to the entire cottage, access to the hot tub and outdoor furniture as well as a private 6 basket frisbee golf court in the backyard. Other things to note During the winter time (November-April) it is mandatory for you to have a 4x4 car to be able to get to the cottage, the area can get heavy snow and icey roads. The roads in the cottage area are cleared on Thursdays and Sundays but the parking lot is not cleared.
