Description
Reconnect with nature in your own private bush haven or try a week working from the bush with Wi Fi available on request. Wake up to birds, wombats, echidnas and wallabies and the eucalyptus laden air. Say good morning to the alpacas through the windows, and be greeted on arrival by Abbey the golden retriever. Feeling adventurous come and explore the rosemary farm and distillery or check out the studio where Bridget is experimenting with wild clay ash glazes, botanical inks…. The space A simple contemporary design that blurs the boundaries between indoors and out. Designed for comfort without clutter. There is an old-style rainhead shower, day beds, or work area, and a deck with firepit. A queen loft bed has views into the trees on three sides. A second single bed may be made up on one of the day beds downstairs. The kitchen is well equipped, the bench made from a 100-year-old messmate from the farm. The sunken lounge is bathed in morning sunlight, particularly beautiful in the winter months. Outside is Enid Blyton’s enchanted wood. There is a track through the bush which is largely big old peppermint and messmate ( Eucalyptus), with tree ferns in the gullies and banksia and grass trees on the ridges. We grow rosemary and distil it for oil and hydrosols. I work with the materials of the bush; using clay the wombats dig up for vessels and experimenting with making inks, pigments, and glazes from plants. We have 3 alpacas who look after 3 chickens. The alpacas share the paddock with Agnes, they are curious but shy and will come to check you out, but don’t like to be touched. We are happy to show you around or to leave you in peace to relax and explore at your own pace. Guest access You are free to wonder. Other things to note The stairs up to the loft bed are steep. There is a handrail but if your knees are compromised you may find this difficult. This is bush, the ground is uneven and there is wildlife. You need to be conscious of where you are walking, and mindful of the plants and animals for whom this is home.
