Quirks of a 1940’s home. While you’ll see new throughout the house, we’ve also kept some of the home's original charm and quirks. The original hardwood floors tilt but be assured, the foundation was lifted and fully reinforced in 2024. There are plenty of built-ins. We’ve added Route 66 memorabilia for our guests to enjoy. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire house, fenced backyard with Firepit, outdoor patio with table & rocking chairs/side tables, grill and games; driveway and covered carport. Guests will NOT have access to the locked owner's closet in the Queen bedroom (There is a 2nd closet available for guests use) locked cupboard in the carport and the exterior shed. Other things to note The front door is the original wooden door. It swells when there is heat and humidity. It can make it tricky to open, shut and lock the door. OPEN/UNLOCK - watch for the blue check mark. When the lock mechanism stops making noise and you see the blue check mark, the door should be unlocked. You may need to give it a shove to get it open after it’s unlocked. LOCK - if the door makes several beeps and you see a Red ❌ , it is NOT locked. If the door makes a longer beep and you see a Blue Checkmark, you’ve successfully locked the door. We have backup methods to get in if the door completely fails! The house has central AC with the coil replaced in July 2024, it's running great! During the heat of the summer, the house stays coolest without strain on the AC unit when you bring the house to your ideal temperature after dark and maintain that temperature. Keeping the blackout curtains closed during peak sunshine also helps. In addition to the ceiling fan in the living room, there are portable fans in the closets of the Queen Bedroom, Bunk Bedroom and Game Rooms. NOTE: The thermostat has been locked at 69 degrees with AC. If your personal preference is colder, just let us know and we can lower it another degree or two. Thank you!
