Our beautiful Yorkshire Dales cottage has high quality furnishings, impeccable style and individual touches oozing charm and spaciousness. And its location with both walks and a wide range of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants right from the doorstep make it a very popular holiday choice. Step into the lounge and curl up on one of the modern comfy sofas with Yorkshire wool throws, large sumptuous rug and a rustic chest full of interesting board games for those cosy nights in with a glass of wine. Load some logs in the Aga wood-burner set in the original fireplace and you can relax and enjoy the stylish space . Creating a culinary delight couldn’t be easier in the well equipped dining kitchen complete with Denby crockery, a full range of glasses including Prosecco/Champagne flutes, a Bosch induction hob, integrated fridge freezer, oven and grill, microwave and toaster, integrated washer and integrated dishwasher. A large rustic table with vintage jug and eye catching wall pictures creates a homely and original ambience, perfect for holiday dining. Outside, to the rear you can relax in the tranquil , private courtyard equipped with patio table and chairs and large grey bench . The whole space is painted white with green plants and on a sunny day this really is a perfect haven to relax ,read a book and look at the trees on the crag above. There are electric fairy lights too for when dusk falls and you wish to remain outside drinking and chatting on one of those balmy summer evenings. Upstairs, you can totally unwind and relax in the luxury beds , all with Egyptian cotton sheets, delightful throws and blackout blinds/curtains. The master bedroom has a Super king-size bed which can be divided into two singles on request, there is also a double bedroom and roomy single bedroom. After a long walk in the surrounding countryside, have a soak in the roll top bath with claw feet or take a refreshing waterfall shower which has its own walk in enclosure. The beautiful bathroom showcases a handmade rustic towel ladder with matching storage unit and your feet will never get cold with the luxury of underfloor heating! Ivy cottage is located on one of the oldest streets in Settle, tucked behind the market square. It is very peaceful with lots to do and would suit a variety of visitors at any time of the year. Just a few minutes’ walk from the cottage, you can enjoy spectacular views of the Three Peaks of Yorkshire whilst walking the Settle loop taking in the tumbling dales, waterfalls (Stainforth force and Catrigg force) and meadows. Keen cyclists are spoilt for choice with an abundance of routes all taking in dramatic and interesting views right from the doorstep. Visit Malham with its limestone cove, tarn and Janet’s Foss or try Ingleton with White Scar caves and Ingleton Waterfalls walk. For those of you who like shopping Settle has a market every Tuesday and is full of quaint eclectic shops, not to mention a large upmarket supermarket called Booth’s. A little further afield, 30 minutes’ drive you can visit Kirby Lonsdale which is a larger very popular market town and Skipton, famous for its bustling market, castle and canal boats. Settle has many restaurants , pubs and cafes to suit a variety of tastes from home-cooked pub fayre at The Golden Lion and The Talbot Inn, to Sydney’s fabulous bistro. No one can visit without going to the famous Ye Old Naked Man café and shop for mouthwatering cakes and Yorkshire gifts. For golfing enthusiasts Settle has its own 9 hole golf course set amongst the most beautiful scenery and there are swimming baths open to the public too! Take a ride on the famous Settle Carlisle railway built in Victorian times and experience breathtaking scenery and another day enjoy a leisurely trip to the Lake District which is only 45 to 50 minutes away by car. And if you fancy something different……. you can book falconry experiences in Austwick a few miles up the road and cheesemaking events can be booked at the Settle Courtyard Dairy. And there is always Settle Victoria hall where you can watch a variety of performances in the historic building dating back to 1853 . So come and visit our lovely Yorkshire cottage and see for yourself! Settle can easily be reached by car, train or bus. There is plenty of free on street parking available nearby and several very reasonably priced car parks a few minutes' walk away . Other things to note Please do not park opposite the cottage as this is reserved for the owners of Fern Bank cottage only. All unloading/ loading please park right outside the front door of Ivy cottage. You are fully entitled to do this. Please use the top oven as a GRILL only. Use the bottom oven as an OVEN. Minor breakages will be tolerated but you will be charged for major breakages and anything taken from the cottage will be charged. Unfortunately, items have been stolen from the cottage recently so we do an inventory now at every changeover . Before you leave Lock up Please ensure lights are turned off . Thank you !
