Description
Tranquil getaway on the doorstep to the Mourne Mountains. Just listed in 2024, a newly renovated cottage surrounded by peaceful countryside fields and beautiful mountain views. The cottage is centrally situated among various towns and villages that offer attractions which cater to guests with differing ideas of the perfect holiday getaway. Accessible downstairs. Secure onsite parking. Can accommodate 6 adults plus 3 children. Entire unit, but reduced price for fewer bedrooms. The space The downstairs is fully accessible, with an open plan living/kitchen area with a table, additional pop-up table, three sofas which seat 6 adults, and six stools. There is a dedicated workspace with a desk and chair, which can be closed off from the rest of the house. The cottage has a downstairs bedroom, with a king size bed, TV and clothes storage. There is a separate shower room with a walk in shower area, sink, toilet and heated towel rail. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, two with a king size bed each and the third bedroom has three single beds. Each bedroom has clothes storage provided. There is a bathroom with a bath, separate shower enclosure, sink, toilet and heated towel rail. Outside there is a large yard for parking, an enclosed grassed area and a patio area which is up some steps. The garden around the patio is still a work in progress with new plants. There is a picnic table on the patio and a separate set of garden furniture in the yard area. The outside is fully fenced with gates which can be closed to the lane. The lane leads onto the main road. We are adjacent to a farmyard and fields so there may be some farm activity, farm animals, and smells of the countryside from time to time! Access to the farmyard or the fields must not be blocked at any time by guests. Guest access Guests are welcome to use any area within the fence and gates which enclose the house i.e the yard, enclosed grassed area, patio and laneway. They are allowed access to the lane between the gates and the road for driving and walking but must not park here. Guests are NOT allowed into the farmyard or fields as farm animals can be unpredictable and the farmer may have crops in the fields. Other things to note The property has been approved by Northern Ireland Tourist Board for self catering accommodation, in June 2024. It has been approved to accommodate a maximum of 6 adults plus 3 children, due to the seating arrangements in the living area. However, there are 4 bedrooms which can be reserved in any combination with sleeping space for up to 9 people. Guests will have the entire unit to themselves, but can avail of a reduced booking fee by reserving one, two, or three bedrooms as required, if they do not have 9 people in their group, i.e £90 per night for the cottage including ONE bedroom. Each additional bedroom will be £40 extra. The entire cottage using all 4 bedrooms will be £200 per night. (Please ask the host for this special price). If your group does not need all four bedrooms, the unused bedrooms will be closed. You will not be sharing the cottage with other guests. The property is located in the countryside just off a main road. There is a Translink bus stop close to the property. There is a brilliant 24 hour taxi service from the neighbouring towns.
