Description
In our spacious and quiet accommodation you can feel at home. Not like a tourist, but like a local. The accommodation is simple and very inexpensive. It has everything you need, but no luxury. Your neighbors are people who live there, so you can get to know the country and the people. The space The property has 4 separate rooms on the ground floor and an apartment and a roof terrace upstairs. There are 3 more rooms available for this room, so 8 people can be comfortably present at the same time. It is good for groups, but so that everyone has their privacy. Rooms can be booked individually and are individually listed on Airbnb. Each room is equipped with a large, step-adjustable ceiling fan. Guest access During the stay, guests have access to the kitchen (with fridge and microwave) and the living area on the ground floor and the roof terrace on the upper floor. During your stay The owners of the property are a Ghanaian and a German (both living in Germany). Both can be reached via their German number or Messenger (international). On site, a Ghanaian who temporarily lives on the ground floor of the house takes care of the guests' needs. He hands over the keys on arrival, can have laundry washed if necessary, bring water/new bed linen or towels. He speaks some English or Twi or the local language. Other things to note The property can be reached from Kotoka Airport in about an hour by taxi. It is located on the outskirts of the capital Accra. In the immediate vicinity is a grocery store/supermarket, pharmacy, sports bar, sewing shop and other street vendors selling fruit, vegetables and local food. A gym of a nearby hotel is also freely accessible/usable. Each room (except the kitchen) has a large, step-adjustable ceiling fan. The windows have fly screens. The house is connected to the public water and electricity network. For Ghana, this means that permanently running water and electricity are not a matter of course. Electricity and water are repeatedly switched off by the authorities for hours or in the case of water for several days. In this case, there is a water barrel on the roof. In the absence of electricity, flashlights are therefore suitable. The jewel of the house is the large roof terrace with a cozy rattan sitting area, sun lounger, large dining table, several chairs and a bench in front of the kitchen overlooking the sea. Seat cushions for this furniture are located in the apartment and are provided as needed. No smoking in the entire interior. Toilet paper is disposed of in the trash cans next to the toilets and not in the toilet itself. Tips for a stay in Ghana for foreign/international guests: - the sun is strong (think of sun protection) - It gets dark after 6 pm, then long clothing or skin protection with sprays against malaria mosquitoes is recommended - Keep doors and windows closed in the evening so that mosquitoes do not enter the apartment - or only leave windows open with mosquito nets. - Do not drink water from the tap/water tank, also use water from closed, purchased water bottles to brush your teeth - possibly have a flashlight/mobile phone ready for sudden power outages in the evening/night - Kokrobite taxi station is within walking distance, taxis can be used at any time relatively inexpensively for trips (including excursions)
