Homely old shop in Dinorwig
Homely old shop in Dinorwig
Description
Cosy house for up to six in the foothills of Snowdonia. Being the old quarrymans shop, it sits in the beautiful woodland above Llanberis, on the edge of the Dinorwig quarry. A perfect getaway for those looking to immerse themselves in the outdoors. From the front door, you can walk in any direction for extraordinary views. It is the ideal spot for walking historic pathways, slate climbing or mountain hikes. The house is used as a family second home and is furnished in a homely way full of art The space The ground floor comprises a hall, kitchen, dining room, bathroom, and sitting room with an office space and stairs to the first floor. The slate flooring is heated with underfloor heating which keeps the building comfortable temperature. The bright kitchen includes a large old eight-ring gas cooker, a combination microwave oven, fridge and dishwasher. Off the kitchen is the large dining space with table and chairs for 6 and a cosy wood stove. There is a large living room with tv (and Chromecast) and another wood stove, and an area for working with desk and chair. The downstairs bathroom has a toilet, sink, rain shower, heated towel rack and clothes maiden. Upstairs is the master bedroom with king-sized bed, a double bedroom and a bunk bed room. The bathroom upstairs has a toilet, sink, bath with shower attachment and heated towel rack. Throughout the house are velux windows which keeps the space bright, with views up to the beautiful woodland. Guest access Guests can use the whole property but should be aware that the garden is unmaintained, accessed only via narrow uneven slate steps which are slippery when wet. We therefore ask guests not to use the garden unless it's dry and that children are always supervised here. Also at the far end of the garden guests should be aware that there is an open drop of about 12' onto the track. Other things to note In order to park at the property it is best to turn round at White Peris (where the tarmacked road ends and to reverse down the last bit of track. There is an agreed car parking space at the property next to the wall. The parking spaces here are indicated by white marks on the wall. The parking space for our house is nominally the one nearest to the property that is just by the wooden gate that leads to the back door. There is also roadside parking at the top of the track.
