First and foremost, we welcome you into a super clean home. Our host Jane is meticulous about ensuring the home is spotlessly clean. We are located about 2 miles from historic downtown Folsom. The home is on a hill above the Hinkle Creek Nature Area. Five bedrooms – four upstairs with king size beds and one downstairs with a double bed. A large private backyard with a gigantic solar heated pool and standalone hot tub, oversized patio and the shade is provided by a beautiful 200-year-old blue oak tree. This is a great place to relax, float in the pool, take a hot tub or just sit in the shade of the blue oak tree and watch the birds enjoy the bird feeder. The family room and living rooms have 96" TV’s, dining room that can accommodate up to 10, and super comfortable living room. Access to the garage is not included. No Pets. No Parties. Good Neighbor Policy: We lived in the home, so we know our neighbors are wonderful people. We need to ensure that they are not disturbed. We have a "no party" policy, but encourage family gatherings. Our primary focus is on minimizing noise. Gatherings in the back yard can generate a disturbance even if not intended. We ask that you be respectful of the neighbors and keep the noise to a minimum when outside and move inside after dark. All of that said, we welcome children - having fun in the pool during the day is encouraged :-). The backyard is adjacent to the Hinkle Creek Nature Area, forty-two acres of pure nature. No basketball courts, BBQ's, tennis courts or noise, just a 1-mile stunning single track dirt trail that coils around gorgeous trees, petite pastures, and Hinkle Creek. This picturesque nature area is wonderful for leisurely walks and trail running. When you get to our home we will give you directions to the Indian grinding rocks in the nature area. The nature area is serene and quiet … although you might be serenaded by the coyotes at night! Over the ridge beyond the Hinkle Creek Nature Area is Lew Howard Park. This facility has a kids’ playground, basketball courts, tennis courts, BBQ/picnic areas you can also enjoy. Bring or rent bikes - the home is about 1 mile away from the American River Bike Trail, which runs from Granite Bay to downtown Sacramento along the beautiful American River and away from traffic - round trip is about 70 miles. You can also rent paddle boards/canoes to enjoy Lake Natoma which is adjacent to the Folsom Historic district. Historic Folsom is a very fun place to visit. Lots of good restaurants, Saturday farmers market next to the Folsom Light Rail Station and even an ice-skating rink from Thanksgiving through New Years Eve. Special events are the Folsom Rodeo over the 4th of July weekend and California International Marathon in December (start line is about 1 ½ miles from the home). Our favorite is the 200-year-old blue oak tree that is adjacent to the patio and provides cool shade even on the hottest days. The home is designed for family gatherings (not noisy parties) where everyone can spread out and enjoy the beautiful setting. If you are looking for a serene home where your family has a private space to enjoy nature and reside in a sparkling clean home, this is the home for you! Welcome! Jane & John Guest access You have the entire home to enjoy with the exception of access to the garage. Other things to note Parking - two vehicles in the driveway and two in front of the house. If you need to accommodate additional vehicles, do not park in front of neighbors home, please park on Blue Canyon Way. Please only take plastic dishes and cups outside onto the patio - glass and pool/hot tub are not very compatible. The pool is large and beautiful and we want you to enjoy it fully. The back yard is fenced in but the pool is not. We require a sober adult swimmer to be present anytime a child or non-swimmer is in the backyard. Hot Tub - like the pool - we want you to enjoy it. Just know that if you stay in too long, especially if alcohol is involved, you can pass out. To open the hot tub: 1) remove the black cover 2) disconnect the two clips in the front of the hot tub 3) push the cover back toward the wall about 6 inches. 4) fold the front half of the cover back 5) lift up the cover and it will slide behind the hot tub. Just reverse the sequence to cover it back up - the shinny side of the black cover goes down.
