Your completely self-contained studio is a compact, no frills, practical and functional space, with a well-equipped kitchenette, ensuite, comfy sofa and comfy queen bed. Please note that the wide-angle on the camera gives the impression that the studio is bigger than it is. There's also an outdoor table and chairs, late afternoon sun and frequent spectacular sunsets in the winter months. Unlimited NBN Wi-Fi is available plus TV, Google Chromecast and DVDs. The 200L fridge has a generously-sized separate freezer. There are plenty of kitchen appliances for your convenience, including a mini toaster oven, microwave oven, benchtop oven, hotplates, toaster, kettle, stick blender, coffee plunger and more. Filtered rainwater, organic coffee, assorted teas & UHT milk are provided (if you prefer plant-based milk let us know). Other appliances are also available, stored in the laundry and shared with other guests (e.g. electric juicer, jaffle maker, rice cooker... as well as games and an iron and ironing board). For solo long-stay guests, if you like we can alter the studio layout to suit. Your studio windows are fully gauze-screened, though insects are minimal. The shared washing machine is complimentary to use, including septic-safe laundry powder. Your car parking spot is right beside your studio. There is one small step into the studio. There is also an outdoor, undercover, 12-jet spa bath in a shared area on one of the upstairs decks, which, by arrangement, you can reserve for your private use. (It's an optional extra for $10, or complimentary for guests who stay a week or more. 🤩) "Look at the stars, see how they shine for you." ... enjoy our spectacular night sky. All the better for sitting around the outdoor fire pit (a lovely treat when the weather is behaving itself). Enjoy wallabies grazing, abundant bird life, peaceful country vibes and the gorgeous Little Millstream Falls nearby. You're right on the doorstep of the Tablelands' wonderful attractions. The weather is better than many places on the Tablelands, which has many micro-climates. Most places on the Tablelands can be reached by car within an hour. (Atherton 55 minutes, Yungaburra 65 minutes, Malanda 45 minutes, Millaa Millaa 30 minutes, Herberton 40 minutes, Innot Hot Springs 30 minutes.) It's 15 minutes from Millstream Falls, less than 10 minutes to Little Millstream Falls and just 10 minutes from Ravenshoe - a well-serviced town that includes two cafes, a bakery and two pubs! This slice of paradise awaits you! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the Jirrbal people, and pay our respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging. We also appreciate and pay our respects to all others who love and honour the land, our mother earth. Guest access It's sealed roads all the way to our level driveway, so it's total ease for any type of vehicle. Enter the property via the battle axe driveway (very private, out of sight from the quiet country road, look for the golden yellow feather flags). Drive along past the mango trees lining the driveway, then keep following the fence line down the side of the house, and park on the left hand side of the carport under the house. Your car parking spot is right beside your studio and suits most standard vehicles. There is one small step into the studio. Wherever possible we avoid the downstairs area while you're in. The studio is under the house (under the kitchen) so you will likely hear upstairs (in a muffled way). The laundry is upstairs, and is shared with other AirBnB guests. Stairs lead up to the breezeway and laundry, with access via a gate that is locked at night. Other things to note ~ When you book a stay with us, you are confirming that you understand that our sanctuary (indoors and outdoors) is a smoke-free, drug-free and intoxication-free zone and you agree to abide by this. Drinking in moderation is okay. We will check this with you when you request to book. ~ Nature provides us with lots of lovely, quiet nights ... and at other times it also provides us with the sound of storms, curlews, wild Guinea fowl and pond life! ~ Peace and quiet is encouraged. Other guests can be asked to quieten down. :-) ~ The studio is on the ground floor, under the kitchen, so muffled sounds can be heard. ~ Organic and natural personal care and cleaning products are provided for practical, health and ecological reasons. We prefer that you refrain from using any of your own products that may be unsuitable for septic systems. ~ Your studio has a heater and plenty of comfy bedding for the cooler seasons. ~ There is a pedestal fan in the summer. While there is no air-conditioning, and we do get hot days, the elevation of the Tablelands for the most part makes the climate a lot cooler than down on the coast. ~ The studio is a no frills but nice, comfortable and functional. It's most suited to those who would rather stick to the basics and skip higher-priced, more fancy accommodation options... especially if out working or touristing all day. ~ Telstra network has the best signal. Optus and Vodafone network phone signals also work here. ~ The TV has Google ChromeCast, suitable for Androids, not iPhones. ~ During the wet season especially, thunderstorms can be severe. It’s not uncommon for the mains power to blackout. We provide rechargeable L.E.D. lights and disposable ice bricks may be available. ~ On Eucalyptus Road there are often many wallabies, and sometimes Guinea fowl, curlews, bettongs, possums and rabbits. Please drive mindfully. ~ This is the tropics, and on very rare occasions when it rains very heavily, the creek between Ravenshoe and our neighbourhood (Millstream south) can rise rapidly, however, it goes down again quickly. Being flexible with your plans anywhere in the tropics is the best approach. If you have to be somewhere critically important (e.g. the airport), it is best to keep watch on the weather forecast and the radar map, and if need be, plan extra time accordingly. ~ Our property is not suitable for children or pets. ~ Note: The small local supermarkets closer to us are limited and expensive. If you're staying for a while and need to do a big food shop, Atherton, Innisfail and Cairns are better options. Fresh fruit and vegetables are also available from most of the weekend markets around the Tablelands. For the health-conscious, The Natural Living Co. in Ravenshoe is open 6 days a week, and in Atherton there is an organic food co-op and an award-winning IGA ~ For longer stays the space can be jiggled to suit better
