Description
Welcome to “Hush” at Great Orchard. Nestled in the picturesque Kent countryside this tranquil retreat offers a perfect blend of romantic charm and modern comforts. We hope you’ll agree that, set amongst mature gardens, the beautiful oak framed property creates an ideal escape for couples or solo travellers seeking peace and tranquility. Located along a quiet but accessible country road “Hush” is the perfect getaway for walkers and cyclists alike. London is only an hour train journey away. The space “Hush” is a recently built, oak framed, characterful property set in mature gardens. The accommodation is set across two floors with the main living, bedroom, kitchen and dining areas being situated at first floor level. The bathroom is found on the ground floor being located off of the main hallway/entrance. The first floor area is open planned and light and airy with exposed beams giving a natural ambience. The many windows offer multi-aspect views across the gardens with a large oak framed window being a focal point and somewhere from which, on occasions, you may be lucky enough to see visiting wildlife whilst enjoying a glass of wine or your morning coffee. Whilst “Hush” offers solitude and calm it is also close to a number of typically quaint villages providing restaurants and pubs and is also situated close (15 minutes away) to Ashford International Station which offers a high speed train link into London St Pancras and the delights that London has to offer. LeShuttle is only a 20 minute drive away from which a trip over to France is an option. Guest access Guests are welcome to use the main garden and seating areas. It would be very much appreciated if any gates can be closed after use as Elvis, our very friendly Border Terrier, is partial to escaping whenever possible. There is a seating area to the side of the property which is solely for the use of guests. There is a large driveway with parking for guests being available to the front of “Hush”. At times we close and lock the gate to the driveway to ensure our dog does not escape and come to harm. This usually means that we are gardening. You will be able to contact the host if this is the case and the gate will be opened for you. This offers safety for our dog and added security for the main house and “Hush” Other things to note The aim when building “Hush” was to allow as much natural light in as possible and with this in mind the main gable end window does not have curtains. Whilst privacy is ensured via curtains/ blinds elsewhere in the property, you may be woken by the morning light entering the bedroom area via the gable window. This is something that previous guests have enjoyed however we think it only correct to highlight this. We have a very friendly BorderTerrier called Elvis who loves to say hello . We understand that not all guests like dogs so please let us know if that’s the case.
