Peaceful room in old house

Take some time out in this tranquil room with private ensuite wc/shower looking out onto the hills, where you can hear birds, sheep bells and a little stream outside. No light pollution. Locks on all doors. The house was built in 1850. Shared bathroom and kitchen downstairs. Usually no parking outside the house. There is paid and free parking in the village, but I cannot guarantee a place. It's cold in the winter: I heat with a 100-year old wood stove (no modern heating). The space The room is in a shared house built in 1850. There are three bedrooms in total and I (the hostess) usually occupy one of them, if I am not travelling myself. Sometimes the third bedroom is also occupied by family, friends or other guests. The kitchen and downstairs bathroom, living room and garden are shared. The house is in the centre of a very quiet village. There is no through road so no traffic at all. Even the church bells don't ring at night (until 7am), an exception for Switzerland! Guest access Your room is private and lockable and has an ensuite shower and toilet (don't forget to turn the fan on after use!!!) During your stay I work as a teacher in Zurich and am half Swiss - half English (UK). I work most days but am usually around in the evenings if I am not taking care of my parents. Other things to note Please note, this is an old wooden house and has peculiar needs such as airing (important!) There is an electric boiler so there is always hot water. The heating is a 100-year old wood-burning furnace which is fun to use but takes WORK and know-how! You have to be comfortable with fire and cold temperatures if you want to stay in the cold season and brave the Swiss winter in a historic home! In the summer it's easy living :)
