There are NO sidewalks on the island. Please look out for pedestrians, cyclists and animals. By Foot: Take the ferry from Chemainus, as per below. Thetis Island Getaway (TIGA) is approximately 5 km from the ferry dock. If you would like a pick-up from the ferry docks, please arrange it in advance. There is a $25 charge for this one way. By Bike: Take the ferry from Chemainus, as per below. Thetis Island Getaway (TIGA) is approximately 5 km from the ferry dock. While cycling is encouraged, please keep in mind that the roads on the island are very narrow and steep in some areas, with hairpin turns.** By Ferry: Thetis Island enjoys frequent BC Ferry service (for cars and walk-ons) to and from Chemainus, with ten sailings daily from Chemainus. Ferry travel time is approximately 25 minutes. Other things to note Attention savvy packers! There are no large grocery stores in the island, so bring what you need for an epic vacay.
