Mama Moon Treehouse

This magical treehouse was built by Pete Nelson 25 years ago and recently renovated with help from his crew. It sits in living trees on our 5 acre property next to its own little pond and fountain. It has a bathroom with sink and toilet, hot water outdoor shower, wifi, heat, AC & more! Enjoy the outdoor space with, hammocks, grill and fire pit by the pond. It's 1 mile from Lake Alice so grab the paddle boards and head to the lake! Plus, book a sound healing or sacred ceremony while you're here! The space You’ll arrive and park in a dedicated space and find a gorgeous path strung with light into the forest that leads to your treehouse adventure! This tiny but magical treehouse is situated up in 4 living trees and surrounded by lush green natural beauty on all sides. It is a little sacred sanctuary where you can rest and relax and enjoy the unique experience of sleeping in a tree! The living space is small but so cute and has everything you need for a cozy escape with a little kitchenette, sink and incinerating toilet. There is a cute little couch that folds down for an even better snuggling experience, and extra throw pillows and blankets to enjoy the projector for watching movies and TV. Or enjoy the view of nature from the hanging hammock chair perched in the corner by the windows that look out to your closest neighbors living in the colorful squirrel house on the nearby tree. On the front porch you’ll find a bistro set perfect for enjoying your morning coffee and a gorgeous hot water outdoor shower. Up a pretty steep staircase (not recommended for anyone with significant mobility issues) is the gorgeous loft space with a comfortable bed, lots of pillows and windows all around that we recommend you open to really feel like you’re sleeping in a tree! Outside you’ll find a cozy space under the treehouse with a camp grill, two hanging chairs, a bin with lots of supplies and gorgeous string lights that lead to your own private pond with fountain. This area has a bistro table set, lounge chairs and a fire bowl perfect for making s’mores or enjoying the view of all the little birds that play in the pond. Come and experience the magic for yourself! Guest access Guests have access to the treehouse parking spaces, the path and surrounding forest space around and under the treehouse and the lounge area by the pond. Other things to note In a wind storm the treehouse is an adventure! The trees move and house moves with them and branches knock into the house and make sounds! We have earplugs and sleepy time tea up there that can be really helpful if you’re a light sleeper!
