The Cabin
The Cabin
Description
The cabin is located in the garden of the Old School House in a countryside location. It is simple but elegantly furnished with an ensuite shower room. There are plenty of sockets, lighting and its own strong wi-fi connection. It is cosy, clean and comfortable with a microwave, mini fridge, kettle and toaster. We have provided tea, instant coffee and the basics that you may require for breakfast on the first day. There isn’t a full kitchen or any cooking facilities at the cabin. The space Perfect for a couple, the cabin is a restful stopover if you are exploring the Blackmore Vale area of north Dorset or even parts of Somerset and Wiltshire, which are only a 10-minute drive away. There is a full-size double bed with a firm mattress. We are unable to provide a travel cot or high chair. If you do need an iron and ironing board, please let us know. Pets are very welcome but we kindly ask that you keep them off the furniture. All bedding and towels are provided for two adults. There is no TV or radio in the cabin but you are able to use the wi-fi to watch any streamed programming on your own devices. No smoking. There are plenty of walks within about a 5–10-minute drive. Please note the cabin is completely self-contained with its own access and it is situated close to the main house. We are beside a country road that sees farm and other traffic, but these noises are minimal at night. Guest access There is off-street parking for one car right in front of the cabin. PLEASE NOTE the drive is on an incline and if you have a very low vehicle, it may hit the ground as you drive in. If this is the case you can park for free on the small green two doors down. Also, you will either need to reverse back into the drive or if you drive in, reverse back on to the road when you leave. Guests can walk around our garden or sit at the garden table and enjoy the lovely Blackmore Vale views. Our garden is secure and dog friendly should you wish to allow your dog to have a little run around. We are at the Old School House in the hamlet of Todber. If you are coming down the B3092 after turning into it from the A30 you pass the signs for Todber and keep driving about 500 meters. Just as you turn into Red Lane from the B3092 we are the first house on the left. Other things to note There are two pubs in Marnhull, which is the village next to us. Both serve hot meals. There are plenty of other pubs within a 10-minute drive with excellent options for food. There are also quite a few takeaways at both Sturminster Newton and Gillingham and a very good fish and chip van at the village every Friday evening. The closest shop is in Marnhull, which has a post office and convenience store. West Stour has a much larger supermarket and petrol station as well as the award-winning Udder Farm Shop and Café, which also has electric car charging points. - Marnhull 1 mile - Stour 1.8 miles - Sturminster Newton 4 miles - Gillingham 4 miles - Shaftsbury 4.5 miles.
