Adventurous Villa Vigen

Description

The house has a long history and is located just by Kornsjø railway station. This is a special house for those who like unique places. Almost the entire house is decorated with recycled and second-hand purchases. We bought the house in 2019 and have completely renovated all the rooms. We who own it are a visual artist and an engineer, and the house has been shown in newspapers and magazines. The areas around Kornsjø offer nice hiking opportunities both on foot and by bike, and swimming for those who love it:) The space Large kitchen with gas stove (electric oven). Dining room, living room, studio/bedroom, two bathrooms with shower. Extra large tub downstairs where children can bathe. The middle room upstairs is like a small living room with a small library. Small living room/bedroom upstairs with exit to the veranda. There are three bedrooms with double beds, one is part of the "Tivoli Suite", the other is the "Toscana Room" and the last is the "Herbarium". You will find a single bed in the "Dog Salon" and in the "Carl Larson living room" a wide large single bed. In the "Children's room" there are two single beds and in the "Atelier" on the ground floor a single bed. There is room to put a cot in several places. Duvets and pillows are available on site, but remember to bring your own bedding and towels. Best to have double sheets for the double beds. Cushions for the verandas are inside the door. There is a large charcoal grill on site, so remember charcoal if you want to grill. Guest access You have access to the entire house. Other things to note The border to Sweden is nearby, and there you will find a cafe, street kitchen, small grocery store, swimming area and thrift store. It is also nice to swim on a small mountain knoll a few minutes away from the house. It is about 20 minutes to drive to Ed with grocery stores, restaurants and Systembolaget. Halden is 30 minutes by car. There you will find Fredriksten Fortress - A living history for over 350 years - from the country's most important defense building to one of the country's most spectacular cultural arenas. Halden is also a very nice town to visit with a lot of old buildings and history. Halden was once Norway's largest industrial city. Kornsjø from the old days was a place of full activity. The village, as it is today, is based on a lot of history. Kornsjø emerged as a result of the development of the railway, and after this many businesses emerged here; Mechanical workshop and metalware factory, wood factory, land shops, tannery and bakery to name a few. The areas around Kornsjøene offer great hiking opportunities both on foot and by bike. On a day trip, you can hike many kilometers in the tranquility of nature without disturbances. North of Kornsjøene is Boksjøen. Here you will find the nature reserve Lundsneset which borders the national park Tresticklan on the Swedish side. In total, this is Southern Scandinavia's largest contiguous nature conservation area with many nice marked trails. In late summer and autumn, the area offers great opportunities for picking berries and mushrooms. Many historical events have left their mark in the areas around Kornsjø. Several marked hiking trails with historical connections pass through the area, including Bohusleden, Karl XII's road and Bergstien.
